Kevin Lowe, Craig Mactavish and Kelly Buchberger were in Kamloops last night to watch the Oil King's game.

Apparently there was a spitting incident in an end of the game scrum in front of the Oil King's net involving Keegan Lowe and Tim Bozon. Bozon got a game misconduct at 20:00. Not sure who did the spitting as of yet. Disciplinary action from the league is expected.

Lowetide is suggesting that the Oilers draft Sautner or Corbett...Not really sure what to say to that.

Lazar and Jarry I can get on board with.

Looks like LB is getting his mojo back on this road trip. That's a good thing, as he and Jarry make a great 1-2 punch when they are both playing well.

Are those kids draft eligible this year? If so they have sounded putrid by most reports. They must have an insanely high shooting % against which wouldn't have anything to do with the quality of players they are, just that it'll revert to the mean in the NHL and they'll win some Norris' or something

Unless all of our OK followers here are out to lunch, I'd think that it'd be a bad idea to draft these guys.

Nice play by Moroz there. That's what we like to see from him.
Ewanyk scoring is nice too.

I agree, neither of them are NHL material.

Oil.Kings need to stay out of the box.

Thru two periods the only info I can give you guys is that I'm three rows behind the Oil penalty box. Musil is big. The beer is small and expensive(really small) and I miss live hockey.

Happy to be back in the okanogan

Musil plays a very simple game, most of his breakout passes are tape to tape and get the puck out of the zone. From watching he rarely looks out place. Is he gunna turn out to be Tuebert or Smid?

I love the Wilson - Ewanyk - Moroz line, so much energy, they just make stuff happen. It's a shame they can't get more ice time.

The Oil Kings lost 3-2. They just didn't have enough offensive omph tonight. It didn't help that they took a lot of penalties and only had one powerplay.

Smid. He's too smart not to be a solid NHLer. Musil is so good because he can read the play extremely well and use his size to break it up

Agreed, anyone follow Tuebert closely in junior that can speak to his play. He was captain of WJC team. Was that just cause of phyiscality and shut down skills or was he a solid defensive defenseman with good hockey IQ.

I think Musil will become a NHL defenseman but the transition for defenseman from CHL to Pro is extremely rough. Plante/Tuebert have struggled big time.

Basically how does Musil compare to Tuebert in his junior days

Lazar could be a top ten pick, Jarry and possibly Baddock should get drafted in the middle rounds, not sure if the rest will get drafted.

Kelowna- G Jackson Whistle, C Cole Linaker, D Jesse Lees, D Madison Bowey, D Mitchell Wheaton.

Madison Bowey should go in the first round, probably mid to late first round imo, not sure about the rest.

I would try to keep an eye on Lazar and Bowey. Both are very strong, very good players.
Nice kid, very focused. Taken his game to another level this year following his trade to Kelowna. Just has not been given too many opportunities this year unfortunately. Hopefully he gets more games.

i think its basic math. any given minor league team on average will only produce a certain amount of talent. Just because we own the team and see them all the time doesn't mean we should just go a draft them all due to quality scouting.

That said. if we make it to the Memorial Cup again this year then that should be proof that there are above average players on this team

I watch pretty much every game and Sautner and Corbett are garbage, pure and simple. Making assumptions that the team is good therefore all of the players must be good sounds reasonable on the surface, but is far from the truth.

Every team needs a guy like that, a guy that can play solid D and get the puck out of his own zone with smart and quick reads. Having not seen him in juniors I have heard that his skating maybe an issue, so I'd assume that it's safe to say that Smid is much more mobile than Musil is.
