Andrey Makarov - Hockey's Future Prospect of the Month
Great to see him doing so well. He looked great at the WJC IMO.
February stats for the Saskatoon Blades:
15-0 record, 1.72 goals-against average, .948 save percentage, 2 shutouts

Here's hoping they hit a home run with this kid. Heaven knows, they need the net talent in the pipeline.

Wow, that's a hell of a stat line.
Looking like a great pickup for them at the moment.

Blown away by "more than 2GA four times in the 15 games, with an average of 33 shots against"

Yep, most the Russian posters say hes better than Andrei Vasilevski (G) who was drafted at 19th overall. Hopefully he pans out!

Can't be the magic man forever. A tough couple of starts after the streak for the kid.

Andrey Makarov made 34 saves Sunday as Saskatoon squandered a four-goal lead in the third period to suffer a 5-4 overtime loss as Moose Jaw. The loss snaps Makarov's franchise record 18-game winning streak. The Russian netminder came way out of his crease to play a puck in the first minute of the OT, but the gamble backfired, allowing the Warriors an empty net to house the game winner.

Andrey Makarov allowed seven goals on 31 shots before being relieved for the final 10:33 of action as Saskatoon was defeated by Calgary 9-5. The rough outing, Makarov's second loss in a row following an impressive 18-game winning streak, moves his record to 35-17-1-3 with a 2.51 GAA and .921 save%
But he was unreal during that run of 18gms. Bakes has a video montage of his play during those 18 games in the first link. His defense looks brutal in that video.

Sounds like just the kind of goalie we need, because he certainly won't face less shots playing for Buffalo.

I think he's entitled to a bad game or two after the stretch he just had.

Yeah. I hope he ends up being pretty good. The few bad starts are a little scary though. .500 on 6 shots isn't good.

Probly worn out he started a ton of games in that stretch. Either way nice signing.
