I voted for him every poll since baertschi.
hes being criminally under rated
Just noticed he's below Schiefele. Mind=blown.
Another thing people don't understand is just how strong Etem is and how good he is at skating. I actually watched a few Tigers games and watched every one of his goals (highlights). The kid skated circles around the WHL. You get him the puck just before the blueline and before you have time to blink he's behind the defenders. He couldn't be muscled off the puck either, hed skate right into traffic, make them look foolish and snipe the puck in. He wants to be an NHLer and it's obvious.
That and quite simply no one left on the board put up the kind of numbers Emerson did.

Criminally underrated? Seriously?
I understand how you see it. The guy is good and has had incredible statistics. And he's a ducks.
Let me tell you how I feel it. Matthew Dumba, Brandon Saad, Jacob Trouba, Andrei Vasilevski and Ryan Strome are all assets that I'd take without thinking before Etem. As for the top 22 (Minus Mark Scheifele. I'm ''Meh'' on him.)
And it's not that I don't like the guy or the ducks or that I know nothing about your prospects. Just that these seems like better assets to me.

Well he projects to be 20-40 goal scorer (could go either way depending on how he adapts to the pro game). I can understand Trouba (not Jets allegiance there, I genuinely thought Trouba was one of the best d-men in the draft) and maybe Dumba if he can get past the size issues. But Vasilevski? I mean he seems good, but you can't predict how a goalie will do and quite frankly he's given way too much credit for how little he's shown. And Strome? Exactly what does he have that Etem doesn't?

Great production in the OHL, he had 68P in 46GP. Not too shabby for a guy drafted a year ago.
While the WHL isnt as bad as the QMJHL, the OHL is easily the top league of the CHL.

I'd have to agree there. But didn't Strome have Hamilton to always dish the puck to? I mean Etem had Shinkaruk but it's not clear if Etem made Shinkaruk or Hunter made Etem.
I suppose it's a matter of preference. Goals or assists. 60 WHL goals > 33 OHL goals.

yeah Ill take the 60G too, and Im sure Hamilton helped Strome a ton, but at this point who knows anyway. Saad was also dominant in the OHL last year, but Im not ready to call him a superstar. Junior is junior, and some kids just cant make the jump to the pros as easily. Time will tell.

That's where I compare Etem to guys like Saad and Strome. By no means are they weaklings, but Etem's stature, strength, skating, and natural goal scoring ability are just more valuable.
Maybe unfair that I played Etem's style of game almost exactly (maybe with the exception of skating stance) so maybe I have bias there beyond fan bias that I'm trying to suppress.

Goalies are tough to predict, but the feel I've got for this one is the strongest since... ever.
In the case of Strome VS Etem, it's the ''those centers rarely deceive me'' phenomena. But sure, I could easily see Etem doing better.
Voted for Brodin since you could now, think he should have been ahead of all swedish prospects except for maybe Silvferberg and/or Markström. I would have had him at least in the top15.
Looks like he isn't even going to be in the top25, I guess people who hang here haven't seen him that much..
