**** why am i always drunk or have somethin to do when the baby leafs play?!

I heard Stajan and Wellwood are on the same line now, and along with Ling, combined for 11 points in the last or the previous game.. sorry I dont remember which one..

That said I really don't like how Wellwood's scoring has dropped off quiet a bit.. he used to be well ahead of the PPG pace and is now struggling to even be at PPG, let alone score more.. I'm not really surprised as I never saw Wellwood as much of a NHL potential, but my hopes started to rise when Welly's point totals started to rise...

ANyways, I'm glad that my man Stajan is slowly but surely racking up his points, and I think when the season is over, he will pass Wellwood in the standings..

Matt is a great kid, and he's my favourite Leaf prospect along with Colaiacovo..

Anyways, I don't know why i'm talking about this here and now, but GO BABY LEAFS GO

Wellwood has 6 points in the past 2 games.

He's 9th overall in AHL scoring. The only player ahead of him who is either his age or younger is Spezza.

Did anyone here the pregame on Sportsnet ..

Ian White ahead of Colaiacovo on the defense prospect depth rankings for Toronto .. Supplanted as Gord Stelick put it ..

This guy was and Toronto GM .. at one time .. Yikes .. !!!!!

Is that Stellick's own opinion? Or is that what Toronto management thinks?

Either way I don't mind. Cola hasn't played for a while, hasn't he? So naturally I guess, White jumped ahead because he's actually playing..

That said though, White's pretty small, while Cola, I think, is developing a mean streak.

I'd rather see him score consistently than have these outbursts.. unless he's planning to be a streaky scorer like Mogilny, but I don't see anyone in Leaf organization as good as him..

The boys come out flying in the second

How did that not go in? Through the pads just trickled wide

Except when Shirokov does it, it's the "dirty russians" but when Ling did it, Garret says it's because the crowd was too loud or whatever..

Amazing finish- too bad they saved it all for the last minute.

Decent game, but they really do need some scoring behind the top line. They can't count on Ling, Wellwood and Stajan for everything.

Nathan Barrett needs to be way better. He's capable of being a good scorer but he's doing nothing right now.

I was impressed with Bell though. Looks to be developing into a pretty solid defenceman.

Thats what I thought about Bell as well .. He was pretty steady and played a strong game ..

I think St. Johns should bench Wilm .. and have Druken and Leeb on the second line to try to get some secondary scoring .. Even have Stajan center them perhaps and find a new winger for Welly and Ling ..

I'd be giving Williams a bit more playing time too. He gets a fair amount on the power play, but recently he hasn't been playing very much 5 on 5. He'd do a better job than Barrett has been.

Period 1
Binghamton - Jason Spezza 19 (powerplay)(Antoine Vermette, J Langfeld) 11:43
St. John's - David Ling (powerplay) (Carlo Colaiacovo, Kyle Wellwood) 19:57

Period 2
Binghamton - Jason Spezza 20 (Denis Hamel, Josh Langfeld) 10:41

Period 3
Binghamton - Chris Kelly (Anton Volchenkov) 13:11
Binghamton - Josh Langfeld (Chris Kelly) 16:54
St. John's - Kyle Wellwood 19 (Brad Leeb) 18:43
St. John's - Matt Stajan (Kyle Wellwood, Brad Leeb) 19:05

.................................................. .................................................

Welly had 3 points and 1 goal post with seconds left ...

Interesting that Welly has 19 goals and Spezza 20 after tonights game ..Still pretty close after 1/2 season ..

Ling is currently 5th in the AHL in scoring 51 points and Wellwood is 7th with 47 points.. Yanick Lehoux the 3rd leading scorer with 54 points .. is out for the season with torn knee ligaments ... So he will be passed very soon ..

Not counting PP I found it strange that Williams got his most icetime in the 3rd period.. and less the previous two periods .. If they want goal scoring then why not give him more early on ..

he is the Youngest player in St. Johns so I guess Shedden is bringing him along slowly .. he turns 21 next Wednesday Jan 26th ..

Ugh, sister took over one TV to watch Aladin with a friend, and then the folks made me hand over the remote for Law & Order: CI. Couldn't even find the radio link.
