Martin Sagat

Yeah young Marty has finally scored his third goal of the season. Yahoo!

What's up with this kid> Was he in just a dreadful scoring drought, or is he a bust. At one point they were comparing him to Antropov and Ponikarovsky. Any ideas on what his realistic potential is?

Or should I cancel my order for my Sagat Leaf jersey now?

Hey I loved good old number 14. He was a defensive specialist....or at least he scored a lot of short handed goals. What was his leaf record 7 in one season.

Trivia question...with which ex-leaf did Dave Reid partner up with for a store opening in T.O.? And what type of store was it?

When did the expiry date run out on young prospects at 20 years old ???

Sounds like the Antropov comparison is a pretty good one. Gets a bunch of points right off the bat, everybody starts to think that this is the year he is finally going to break out, then he simply stops scoring for an extended period. Just when despair sets in, and everyone begins to believe that he is a totally useless player and that his earlier scoring was a fluke he starts scoring agian.

I guess he had a good weekend, 2nd. star of one game.

Perhaps with Nigel gone he'll get more offensive opportunities.

He actually scored a couple goals in that game as well .. His role is much larger without Nigel Dawes ..

So first star again for Sagat with 3 goals and 1 assist. (Sunday, Jan 2, 2005)

So it looks sometimes it isn't that talent finds its' own level, it is opportunity allows talent to find its' own level.

If the coach just won't give you the ball, you can't show you can carry it.

Way to go Martin.

For Frankie who never saw a stat he didn't dislike

Sagat 2nd. star in a 5-2 win with only 1 assist, Sunday night (Jan 24/2005).

Stats don't show it, but I guess you had to be there.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this guy.

We seem to have a couple big European prospects playing in the CHL that can play the rough stuff. From what I read, two more Alexei Ponikarovsky's.
