Yup I figured it would come down to wording like this. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Judges aren't stupid though, they know that two things are not always equal.

Also while true Alvarez has been chance for more incentives in the UFC, one advantage to him in Bellator is that it is likely he'll get easier fights and has a much better chance of doubling up each time out.

They could probably just throw Chandler's rank around and disprove that.

I don't think it's something that will come up or even be an issue in court, I just think it's a benefit to Alvarez staying that will offset some loss he takes by missing UFC bonuses. Chandler and any other two Bellator guys will be much easier than three top ten guys he would probably get in the UFC.

A few out there are saying Bellator is making a stand as warning to their other fighters. As most fighters can't afford to sit and not fight while legal disputes are settled.

That helps them with their current fighters but fighters outside the organization are going to want no part of signing with them.

Rousimar Palhares and Joey Beltran suspended 9 months for failing drug tests.

Quote:
“Rousimar Palhares tested positive for elevated testosterone and Joey Beltran tested positive for nandrolone, following their respective bouts at UFC on FX 6 in Australia. The UFC organization has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents. Both athletes have agreed to serve a nine-month suspension retroactive to December 14. They must pass a drug test upon completion of the suspension before receiving clearance to compete again.”

Bellator doesn't have a UFC vs Pride position; fighters "outside of Bellator" are generally fighting for a couple hundred bucks at gym shows ... that'd be tough for most fighters to turn down.

No, there are a lot of young fighters and ex UFC guys who are going to be scared away. If you look around plenty of guys have already commented about it when this Alvarez thing started going down.

^ I will agree, for top prospects and up and comers they might now shy away, but the other poster was right in the sense that a guy making no bank would love to get paid to do it by Bellator.

True, but if the top prospects and ex UFC guys aren't going to want to go there, what's left to watch?

There a plenty of good fights to see, BAMMA, ONEFC, DREAM and guys who are always willing to fight. You just won't have a huge amount riding on the fight.

Sorry that's what I meant.. What's to watch in Bellator if top prospects and ex UFC/name guys want no part of their company? Their organization will turn into a glorified TUF.

I like the OneFC better just for the crazy entrance announcer... sounds like the woman from Kung Fu hussle. They have good lower weight class guys like Eric Kelly, Foolayang (though i think he just got ko'd), and some other dudes I can't remember right now.

I fall asleep during Bellator a lot. Besides there bitterness over contracts with Alvarez... others like Hollet, and Lombard is bush league. I will probably tune in to watch them on Spike. But I still think these kind of shenanigans will hurt them in the long run.

I have always been a bigger Bellator fan, albeit I've fallen off from watching it recently because it stopped being aired live on TV in Canada. The online streams are alright, but it's not the same as having it on my TV and DVR. I'll try to get back into it this season because I like the Frieres, Chandler, King Mo, Hale, etc.

I have no problems with how they've handled Lombard or Alvarez, as least as of now based off what I've read and heard. I don't know all of the Hollett details, but that one sounded shady when it went down. Same with how they essentially f-d over Tyson Nam after he KO'd Dantas.

Was Hollett the guy they held in limbo, knowing they weren't going to match the offer, causing him to miss out on a fight or something along those lines? Clearly I don't know all of the details either.

Ronda Rousey on GSP: "Dude, if GSP was butt ugly, you wouldn’t want to know who he is so much".. "He doesn’t fight to defeat his opponents."
, really? No one gives a damn who she is other than the fact she's good looking.

I really wish Rousey would just shut the **** up for once. Cyborg cannot whip her ass soon enough.

Full article.

You've seen Ronda fight?

I've only ever seen her armbar tomato cans in a minute.

Rousey talking again? Yawn.

Let me know when they turn her fight into a bikini mud wrestling fight and my interest will perk up.
