I'd much rather see him dummied in the cage by a fighter, preferably Chael Sonnen. Dump him on his head and beat his face in.

As much as I would love for it to happen, Sonnen will never defeat Jones.

Yea you're probably right. Jones' size and wrestling background is probably enough to stuff Chael's takedowns and if the fight stays standing Chael would get wrecked.

Cormier is an interesting option though should he effectively cut to 205. He's got power in his hands and he's an Olympic caliber wrestler so I don't see him having any troubles getting Jones to the mat if he wants to take the fight there.

Don't expect her to make a full jump to MMA anytime soon, though. She's still planning on competing in Judo in Rio in 2016.

HAVE YOU BEEN TO STAMPEDE YET

Seriously though, is this an attempted mugging? There's a big difference between being mugged and defending yourself, vs suspecting that you might be mugged and attacking someone.

From the article - "I ask him if he was planing to rob me, he says no."

Renzo sounds like he was looking for this before it even happened.

I was thinking the same thing after reading the story. Renzo seemed to enjoy this way too much. Choking a guy out three times and punching when he's unconscious seems a bit extreme especially when he doesn't know for sure if they were going to mug him. Renzo seems a tad psycho.

Totally. Also taking it upon himself to go look for the second guy - that goes well beyond self defense to the point of vigilantism.

Did any newspapers report on this story? Where was this?

I also wonder if it's even real.

In a radio interview with Ariel Helwani, Renzo got into more detail about the incident and claimed after telling them he didn't smoke 1 of the guys grabbed him and the other reached into his coat. And that is when he started throwing punches.

Ah cool, I'm off to bed but I'll give it a read tomorrow.

That still doesn't justify hunting down the second guy IMO, but definitely entitles him to defend himself.

Jerry Jones 'dream' to have UFC Superfight in Cowboys Stadium

"We want to have the big event," Jones said Tuesday morning on his radio show on KRLD-FM 105.3. "That's a goal and a dream of mine to have as a big of a sporting event when we can at Cowboys Stadium. I can assure you that I’m on the incentive plan to get them in there."

For those who are interested in the local candaian fighters. Somebody who I go to the gym with told me that Steve "the boss" Bossť got a call from Dana to face Hollet at 154 but had to decline cause he's still recovering from an injury, that's the same guy who's fighting this saturday on the main card. Bossť is about to join the blackzilian camp. He's really good friends with Evans, he's the one Rashad chose to copy Rampage's style during sparring sessions when he was in camp for UFC 114. I think Bossť is our biggest prospect right now, he has a lot of potential to do some damage in the 205 division.

His KO of Houston Alexander was pretty awesome too, people need to check that one out.

Bellator's Bjorn Rebney fires back at UFC's claims of dirty business practices

Quote:
After UFC 152, White talked about Bellator's actions and saying "It's dirty, it's grimy, and it's just despicable. Of course I have the right to match, but once I cut a guy and let him go and somebody else tries to sign him, I don't come back and say, `Oh, you're breaking the contract. I have matching rights.' You made the decision to cut him. You cut him. That's one of the scummiest, dirtiest things you can do."
Quote:
Bellator CEO, Bjorn Rebney was on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and responded to those comments:

"It's a very, very hypocritical statement," Rebney mused.

"We had to go through the exact same process with Zuffa when we signed ‘King Mo.' Zuffa released ‘King Mo' Lawal on March 27, 2012. They went public with their release, they put it up on their own website, on UFC.com, Dana confirmed the release of 'King Mo' to the media on the exact same day, and then in April, when Bellator looked to sign 'King Mo,' we had to submit our full contract to Zuffa. We sent it certified mail to their attorneys. Then we had to wait 14 full business days, which is typically 20-to-21 days in total, for them to decide if they were going to match or not going to match -- which thankfully they didn't, and we ended up with one of the most exciting and entertaining light heavyweights in the world -- but, this is, to the letter, the exact same process.

"So it's one thing to call somebody out on doing something," continued Rebney. "But when you follow the exact same process, the veracity of the comments have to be taken in context with what the real world dictates."

I think Dana and the UFC just want to make Bellator wait a bit longer and jump through some hoops even though they have no intention of matching the offer. Basically they're just being dicks.

But it seems like Bellator actually wants Nam back after they cut him and they're defending what they're doing because even though it sounds shady, it's still legal. Their only response to the criticism is that the UFC does it too. Even if that is accurate, it still doesn't make it right.

If I understand the Hollett situation correctly, this is what happened: He was released by Bellator, UFC signed him and announced he will be fighting Hamill at UFC 152, Bellator then says they have the right to match and need some time to look at the contract, UFC can't wait for that so they pull Hollett from the card and make the Hamill/Matyushenko fight, and then a day or two later Bellator decides they're not going to match the offer.

So they're giving it right back to the UFC by also being dicks but they're screwing over a fighter in the process. If Matyushenko didn't get injured, Hollett wouldn't be able to fight and make money at UFC 152 and he also wouldn't have a contract with Bellator because they didn't match the offer. Giving the UFC a big F-U is fine but what they did to the fighter isn't cool.

In other news....
