"Georges St-Pierre Says Anderson Silva Fight Won't Happen Because Champ Has "No Doubt" Chris Weidman Will Beat Silva"

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/geor...160000215.html

Should fire up Silva a bit for this bout.

Almost seems as though GSP is angling for the Silva fight with comments like that...

Maybe since now that he and Weidman are training buddies he is just supporting his buddy.

I dunno though. GSP is unusually vocal/visible for a MW fight.

GSP desperately wants Weidman to beat Anderson so people can stop pressuring him into the "super fight". He wants no part of that fight and if Anderson loses, it's not going to happen.

GSP being a weirdo really. I dont get his angle. In the age of social media, there is no doubt that Silva is aware of this comment/stance (whatever it is).

Or maybe he has a plan... he is the villain in an action movie now... could very well be.

Yup, nothing more to it than this. Non-story.

The best part of that article is that it doesn't even contain a single quote from GSP, just Dana "quoting" him. I'm sure Dana's not just pushing an agenda or trying to sell a fight...

First Chael, and now Meisha Tate getting a TUF coaching gig and a title shot coming off a loss.

Miesha vs Ronda makes for better TV and higher ratings.

Probably not true but it does seem like a bit of a coincidence.
Really?

There are pictures of Cat in the hospital with her knee mangled.

This isn't WWE.

I doubt she'd have fake knee surgery for that

Got some conspiracy theorists in here I see. I would tend to agree that Tate would be better for the show than Cat, but I find it HIGHLY unlikely the UFC decided to go with a fake injury. If this somehow ever got out I couldn't even begin to imagine the backlash. No way that would be worth the risk for them.

How many PPV do you need to sell to make THAT worth the risk? And why don't you just wait 4 months and sell them then?

Ridiculous notion to think the UFC would stage a fake injury in order to replace Zingano with Tate. It's not like either Tate or Zingano are the face of women's fighting, that's Roussey. The average person, who they're trying to attract, doesn't know the difference between Zingano/Tate.

Ah, the old fake an ACL/meniscus tear and sit on the sidelines for the next 9-12 months trick.

We're on to you Dana!

Weidman has been one of my favorites since the Bongfeldt fight, so I'm sticking with him.

Its not just the ppv though. Its the tuff show too. Dana is just slimy enough to pull something like this off. Stroke a check for a couple hundred grand to Cat, and she can resume where she left off when the show/fight is finished. Not bad money for not fighting.

I think they were expecting/hoping for Tate to win in the first place. When she lost they found a "creative" way to make it happen anyway.

Damn didn't delete the last part fast enough!! Would rather see Rousey vs Tate on TUF anyways.

Because we all know a picture is worth a thousand words.

So Cat Zingano is just going to fake an injuryfor the next 6+ months? If it got out that she wasn't actually injured it would destroy the UFC's credibility and any chance they have ever being anything better than pro-wrestling to the average person. Come on. The average fan will tune into this season's TUF because of Rousey first and foremost, not because of Tate/Zingano.

There is a lot of money at stake and the need for ratings to keep the show going. It seems all too coincidental, when is Cat supposed to return anyway? Just in time to have a full training camp to fight the winner??
