Jensen is listed as a centre ("CE") on that site. Is that just a persistent typo, or what gives?

I thought he's a winger, and destined for RW most likely in the NHL.

Yeah that's definitely an error. He's RW.

Yeah, 15 was a typo, I meant 19. Still, 99-00 was the last time a junior aged player other than Hornqvist put up more than 12 goals.

15GP, 8G, 3A, 11Points, +7, 2GWG, 20.51% Shooting Percentage

Great numbers across the board for Jensen, who in addition to all that, is AIK's leading scorer.

I don't think anyone is expecting Jensen to be as good of an offensive player as the Sedins. Most are hoping for a a good top6 forward with size, not an all star caliber player the Hank or Dank.

That said the Sedins played a full season in the SEL before posting the numbers you quoted. Yes they were the same age but experience playing in that league is a factor as well.

Jensen will not keep up his goal pace, but if he can stay on that point pace his numbers will be very impressive. Funny that a guy who barely managed to be a PPG player in the OHL seem so comfortable at the professional level.

He impressed at camp, impressed in the AHL, and is now doing great in the SEL. This after posting very pedestrian numbers in Oshawa last year. Perhaps it was motivation or perhaps some guys are just better suited to the pro game.

And the kid has good size to add to the package. I'm nervous, it's too good to be true.

Watched Jensen a bunch last year including first hand at the WJC. He's a good skater with a very good shot. Reminds me of Kesler actually on the offensive end, except more polish and better hands. But he like to carry the puck himself and shoot it a lot. He didn't use his teammates much when I saw him, but that may have been due to the quality level of his teammates on Denmark, but basically the game plan seemed to be give the puck to Jensen and see how far he can skate it the other way.

Hard to say how he'll transistion to the NHL game, but he definitley has the skill set to succeed and has met or exceeded expectations so far.

I think that had a lot to do with it.

it's true, it's damn true. He reminds me so much of a younger Loui Eriksson, and has the same issues that Eriksson had early in his career (consistency from game to game, skating, defensive play). Once he fixes that he will be a very good player in this league, but hopefully not as underated as Eriksson.

Highlights
AIK-HV71 4-5
Jensen 1 +1 But a sloppy defense and a shaky goalie ruined the evening.

Jensen's previous goals and assists.

Thanks for this. That helmet is sick. The entire jersey in general is sick.

Loui Eriksson sounds like a good comparison, if everything goes right.

Jensen probably isn't going to keep shooting 20%, but I'd put the over/under on his goal scoring around 18-20 this season (in a full season's worth of games). That's pretty impressive given his age.

It's a pretty crazy streak he's on. 14 goals in his last (and only) 23 games at the professional level if you go back to his stint with the Wolves. Not bad for a 19 year old.

Even if he drops down to scoring once every 4-5 games he'll still end up with 15-20 goals.

Didnt mean to put Jensen down, Sedins at 19 were dominating the Swedish league, just trying to put things in perspective. But i think Jensens game translates better to NHL than the Sedins did.

If Jensen scores 20 in the SEL this year, we have a blue chip prospect on our hands. hell a kid with a size and great shot is never wrong.

How many years can a player be called "the most underrated player" before he stops being underrated?

I agree, though, it would be nice if Jensen could improve his playmaking and defensive abilities and become a similar player to Eriksson.
