Nicklas Jensen is playing well in Sweden and Mike Gillis says he'll likely stay there even if lockout ends. #Canucks http://t.co/tq6kX8h0
Looks like the earliest Jensen is going to be with the big club is next season.

Even assuming we don't get much in terms of offense for Luongo ...
No room to dress Malhotra unless we go with 5 defensemen, but again I love the sound of that line. Could be our future top line?

Kassian is the next Bernier, you want a Bernier clone on our first line?

Seriously hope you're being sarcastic. If not, don't bother posting this stuff—the board can do without this debate.

Well, the SEL season ends earlier (55 games, regular season ends in early March), is there any reason why we can't bring him over here to play with the big club down the stretch.

Or

Not sure how the agreement with the CHL will affect it considering he finished his season, but can he play with the Wolves after the SEL season is over?

Jeez, it's easy to be hard on y2k; but if every poster looked deep down inside, each one of us can find misjudgments on talent levels of incoming/potential Canucks. Heh, I'm guilty of being excited about bringing in Santala as a fourth line center, and Butenschon as a 7th defenseman. A season later when Nonis brought in Isbister, I knew better than to be fooled.

Anyway, on this one issue, y2k is taking the best position. Luongo is quality, and if he is dealt, it should be for quality. Regardless of his opinion on the talent level of players being discussed, "quality" is a key term he has rightly emphasized.

I'm just surprised by the sudden turn of events. 8 months ago we traded for a goon in his eyes, now he's got the guy playing on our 1st line in the future.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. That doesn't surprise me.

Bothers me when people make those kinds of claims about prospects at such a young age.

Other than size, I don't see too many similarities between the way Kassian and Bernier play.

Agreed, no similarities whatsoever. Bernier has always had hands of stone while Kassian has very soft hands. Bernier has had intensity issues, Kassian is known to be too crazy sometimes, not really similar.

I'd like to know this too. Would be interesting to have him join them afterwards.

I would imagine so...haven't we had someone who joined the Wolves late in the season from the SEL in the past? Racking my brains as to who it could be, but I thought that had happened before.

The problem with that is the CHL and the AHL have an agreement in place where CHL drafted players can't play in the AHL till they are 20 years old.

You can have them join after the completion of the Junior team's season, but technically; the Generals would still be playing after the SEL season ends. Would he have to report to Oshawa, or would he have to wait till Oshawa is finished playing before joining the Wolves, or would he be able to join the Wolves right after the completion of AIK's season?

He is also technically 20 years old by March 3, 2013, so he would be 20, but I am not sure if the CHL operates based on draft year eligibility or actual birth dates.

Also, have you seen the Mallet vs. Bancks scrap in slow motion on CDC yet?

It's hilarious how many shots Mallet gets in, it's almost as if CDC is rubbing it in the Flames' face with a slow mo clip of Bancks' absolute obliteration.

I counted 15 landed punches from what I could see. What's most impressive is he uses both fists quite effectively, almost Rypien-esque RIP.
