wait... what?

I don't think you're talking about the USMNT at least. So at least that's going for us.

So...what happened in the Panthers game? I was at work and missed it, but saw that Cam got me 30 points.

So...

With ~1:50, 3rd and 2ish on about the Falcons' 49: Cam runs the ball, appears to get the 1st down, but the ball gets knocked out, and goes back behind the 1st down marker. If he had made the 1st down, the Panthers could have ran the clock out because the Falcons had used up all of their timeouts. Instead, the Panthers had to punt, but end up downing it at the 1 yard line.

At this point I think there is about 1:00 remaining.

Ryan heaves the ball about 60 yards where for some unknown reason Roddy White is basically wide-open. There were two men there, but they really weren't covering him.

With around 40 seconds left, Ryan throws another pass. Panthers player gets called for PI causing the ball to be placed on the 35. Ryan completes another pass and the guy runs out of bounds. Keep in mind, the Falcons had NO timeouts. But for some reason, the Panthers were content with giving the Falcons all the space along the sidelines. There was no effort to keep them inbound.

Bryant kicks the game winner with about 10 seconds left on the clock.

I'm sure I got a few details wrong in that, but that is the general summary of the debacle that is called the Panthers.

I'm assuming you're talking about how they lost, right?

So I just woke up after like 12 hours (I had a few back to back 5am starts, which I never get enough sleep for, so I was overtired lol)

Had a dream I was playing pool with Steve Beuerlein and Brian Bosworth. Not wure what it means, but it was pretty cool.

Got in my first (quasi) car accident today. Was driving out of my school parking lot and I got backed into out of nowhere.

I love when people think they don't need to look around before backing out of a space. I almost got hit by a lady the other day who could see me plan as day and still tried to back out.

vs. Georgia
@ LSU
@ Florida
vs. Tennessee

If I was an 18-21 year old girl, I'd be all over that. Unfortuanetly, I'm a 29 year old guy so...

Also, you very easily could go 4-0 there. Georgia is overrated and LSU sucks. FLA and Tennessee are the two hardest games there imo.

Florida's the one game I see as most likely to lose.

As you said, UGA is overrated and the ***** get them at home, I'd say that's about a 70% chance that SC will win. @LSU... please, Towson had them sweating it out, they're nowhere near the team they were last year. @Florida is going to be tough, they're a lot better this year then I was expecting and compared to how they started the season. Very high upside for the Gators right now. Getting Tennessee at home is a huge plus. They gave Florida fits, and IMO shouldn't have lost that game @Georgia (who flat out isn't a top 10 team IMO). SC SHOULD handle them, but I'd actually give Tennessee a better chance of pulling the upset then of Georgia of beating SC.

Thanks for the vote of confidence in the Gamecocks, all. Even PE in his Burnsian way

Georgia and USC always play each other close - since we joined the SEC in 1992, the average points margin in the series has been roughly 10 points. In the Spurrier era, that margin's 7 points.

Louisiana State worries me too. Towson was a trap game for LSU and I doubt they'd get caught flat footed against us. Beyond that, again, looking at the historical record, since we've entered the SEC our record against LSU is 1-4-1. It's also a night game in Baton Rouge and the Geaux Tigers contingent will have had all day to party it up. It'll be a raucous, humid, purple and yellow hell - probably the most intense road game thus far. @Vandy and @Kentucky doesn't compare to a night game in Death Valley.

With that said, found some interesting bowl projections to discuss. Just looking at SEC/ACC teams plus ECU:

R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl (New Orleans, LA):
ECU vs. ULM

Belk Bowl (Charlotte, NC):
Georgia Tech vs. Cincinnati

AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl (Shreveport, LA):
Virginia vs. Ole Miss

Russell Athletic Bowl (Orlando, FL):
Louisville vs. Virginia Tech

Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl (Nashville, TN):
Missouri vs. NC State

Hyundai Sun Bowl (El Paso, TX):
Miami vs. Arizona State

AutoZone Liberty Bowl (Memphis, TN):
Tulsa vs. Tennessee

Chick-fil-A Bowl (Atlanta, GA):
Clemson vs. Texas A&M

TaxSlayer.Com Gator Bowl (Jacksonville, FL):
Northwestern vs. Mississippi State

Capital One Bowl (Orlando, FL):
LSU vs. Michigan State

Outback Bowl (Tampa, FL):
Purdue vs. Florida

AT&T Cotton Bowl (Arlington, TX):
West Virginia vs. South Carolina

BBVA Compass Bowl (Birmingham, AL):
Auburn vs. Pitt

Discover Orange Bowl (Miami, FL):
Florida State vs. Rutgers

Allstate Sugar Bowl (New Orleans, LA):
Notre Dame vs. Georgia

BCS National Championship (Miami, FL):
Alabama vs. Texas

ACC Not Bowl Eligible:

Boston College
Duke
Maryland
North Carolina
Wake Forest

SEC Not Bowl Eligible:

Arkansas
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

Discuss

I REALLY want Duke to get those 2 more wins... for the lulz.

And WVU vs SC? hope your secondary's good otherwise it's gonna get ugly.... or Tecmo Bowl like, since WVU's defense apparently couldn't stop **** last week.

I think the writers who came up with that underrate Duke a bit. Cutcliffe has that program on the right track and if this isn't the season they go to a bowl, I think next year is.

After losses like Sunday's, I sometimes get that feeling where I'd almost rather be a consistent losing team like Jacksonville rather than a painful-loss team like we are. There's less heartbreak involved. But then I return to normal and realize that I'd rather be close to instead of nowhere near success... we'll get there soon. We have the talent; we just have to figure out how to win.
