Dunno if you can really call them upsets, but I had WVU to beats TTU, South Carolina to beat LSU and Northwestern to beat Minnesota.

All in all a bad week

When he started flipping, I thought he was dead. Especially when they cut away to the mission control center. I can't imagine skydiving, let alone jumping basically from space.

WOOOHOOO!!

I won my fantasy week by 0.6 points lol

Now, quick question for all you Panthers fans. I'm having a conundrum with linebackers this week. I'm obviously starting Paul Posluszny, but what you think is a better matchup for my second spot. I can't decide if I should go with David Harris, even though he had a bad week, against the Patriots cause they run a bunch of two tight end sets and run the ball a lot, so there should be opportunity for lots of tackles. Or if I should start James Anderson (I have Charles Johnson to) against the Cowboys. David Harris seems to be very up and down while Anderson is just very reliable.

Thoughts?

No possible way of predicting linebacker stats from week to week like that. If, when starting a linebacker, you're looking into his match ups, you're doing it wrong. Go with whoever has the higher scoring average up to this point (I'm assuming it's Anderson).

It took me about 2 or 3 years of IDP leagues to realize that your entire defense is just plug and play. The only "setting" of the lineups you should be doing as far as defense goes is replacement of bye week players as well as guys on your bench that are week after week outperforming your starters. If you actually pick your defensive players based on match ups, it's a surefire way to drive yourself crazy. There's a REASON ESPN only does its projections for offensive players...

I know, but I like to drive myself crazy Things like INT, FF and sacks are impossible to predict, but generally, guys who tackle, tackle. I know it's hard to predict, but so are a lot of offensive players. There's a reason guys like Poz, Clay Matthews and Terrell Suggs go before other defensive players do. Same reason why some offensive players go before others. Good players are good.

Exactly. Which is why you SHOULDN'T be using "the Patriots throw across the middle a lot with Welker and their TEs" as an excuse to start a WORSE linebacker over a guy that does it every week. All I'm saying is that matchups don't matter with defensive players, so in that sense you shouldn't freak yourself out over who to start.

Also, the way our league works, tackles are rewarded above all else. Clay Matthews and Terrell Suggs are basically worthless as linebackers, because they put up the stats of a good DE without DE eligibility. ALL about tackles, even picks are only three points (tackles are a point, with an extra .5 for it being a solo tackle), so unless they bring it back to the house it's not much better than a simple tackle.

Our league is 1.5 for a solo tackle, 0.8 for an assisted tackle, 4 for a forced fumble or INT, 4 for a sack or 2 for half a sack and 10 for a defensive touchdown.

A lot of my matchups are based around hitting home runs which I know is silly but I'm crazy that way. ie I have Bruce Irvin, who (not counting sunday) had 4 sacks in three games for huge points but no tackles, then this week he went out and posted just 1 AST and almost cost me my week haha.

My problem is, is I play fantasy football the same way I gamble on college ball. I accept strike outs hoping for at least one three run homer, instead of having four singles, if you catch my drift.

Always check your fantasy football team several times a day. If I hadn't I'd be missing a receiver cause when I set it this morning Mario Manningham was good to go, but now he's out. LET'S GO EMERGENCY PICK UP GOLDEN TATE!!!!!!

Well, the Golden Tate experiment failed lol. I was hoping for 5 points only, so hopefully it doesn't bite me too bad. I should (hopefully) be able to beat the guy I'm playing this week when comparing rosters.

Some tree work I have been getting done in my yard.

For some perspective, the guy running the chainsaw is around 6' tall.

Uh...how are those crazy? South Carolina/Florida could also be a bit of a toss-up, and TTU/TCU is the only one I see being semi-crazy.

We didn't screw you, but I was worried for a while in that game. Our offense disappeared for a few straight possessions, and I'm hoping Boyd isn't seriously hurt.

This game vs. Maryland is exactly why I hate the option.
