Sure you figured this out if you are watching the game but just QMJHL, Harrington plays for London in the OHL.

Ouellet mightve been the best player of the night (besides Vasilevski) which is saying a lot given the score of the game. Great shot and an awesome stretch pass to catch Russia on the change. Made no big defensive gaffs at all really and probably played almost half the game

Haha I just realized Ouellet's initials are X.O. Has anyone given him the nickname "Kisses and Hugs" yet?

The pass he made last night wowed me big time. His goal too was also really nice.

His goal - very nice shot
His assist - what a heads up play
His defence - Going up against Yakupov and Khocklachev every shift, not bad.

If he plays Wednesday like he did tonight, I have no idea how Hockey Canada keeps him off the World Junior Team.

His stock has always been high within the organization but I can only imagine it will soar even further. Great game for Ouellet.

De Haas playing for Canada West on http://hockeycanada.fasthockey.com/ right now. It's free but you need to sign up.

He's big.

Canada West beat the Czech U18 team 7-0. No points for de Haas but he was very solid and got good icetime in all situations. He's big, moves well and plays a simple game, nothing flashy. His style of game kind of reminded me of Bäckman but de Haas is more physical. Moved the puck well on the PP and probably had 3-4 shots. The opposition obviously wasn't very good so hard to judge him or compare to other Wings prospects.

De Haas is big first off, and isn't a string bean either he looks built.
He is very mobile and just plain mean along the boards.
He only took a couple of shots that I saw and most missed the net.
He looks like he has potential to turn into a shutdown guy who isn't a pylon.
Plus he's going to college so he has lots of time to develop.

Does anyone know where he is going to college? Wondering if he has said yet, haven't seen anything.

Thanks for the scouting report, sounds like he's a Brad Stuart type of d-man.

It will be interesting to see his defensive game if Canada West ends up playing the Americans, because that US team had ALOT of talent. (although they are currently losing 1-0 to the Swiss)

In my opinion he was a perfect fit as a 6th round pick. He has good size and adds some skating ability with that. Doesn't mind playing the body either. He has this year plus 4 more in college to develop.

And the best part is, if he amounts to nothing, then whatever he was a 6th round pick and most didn't expect much anyway.

And Quine 1+1. He has 3 goals and an assist in his first 4 games, which is a good start on a team that looks like it's lacking a bit on offense.

That team is lacking on offense, defense and in goal. Since Quine is 19 it would not surprise me one bit to see him dealt to a contender.

My first time seeing Ouellet play and he was as impressive as everything I've read about him. He just oozes hockey IQ, QBing a PP that includes Huberdeau, Drouin, and Mackinnon speaks volumes. So glad I was wrong about him on draft day, he has proved me completely wrong.

The thing I notice about Ouellete and really like is the confidence he has in his game. You notice when really good players like Huberdeau, Mackinnon are on the ice they're trying to make things happen on a bigger stage compared to their regular leagues. Most times you here good things about prospects especially Dmen and then get a chance to watch them and they play a conservative game because their so afraid to make any mistakes. Ouellette takes chances and has no problem playing the game he knows best. Jumping in the play or making that long stretch play.

Great to finally watch him against and with some of the most talented players. Can't wait and hope he's a force for the Canadian WJ teams.
