Have you ever watched Henrik play? You said he wasn't good defensively.

This is very convincing. I'm now convinced Toews would have won the Selke for sure because of this citation of quotes, facts and evidence.

I watched all the Nucks' vs Hawks playoff series... He didn't look too good there. Toews just shut him down.

Toews also got shut down. Only one goal in 7 games.

This should be Kopitar pretty easily. A PPG Center with Selke level Defense. He's better then Toews, FAR better then Tavares, far better then Sedin.

Should go:

Kopitar
Toews
Sedin
Tavares

for the next 4.

Kopitar has not been ppg once in his career. Over the past 3 seasons Henrik has been 1.17 ppg

So Kesler is better than Toews because he shut him down?

Kesler didn't even shut down Toews. Toews played good that series.

I would think 1 goal in 7 games constitutes being shut down, does it not?

Toews didn't play much PP, unlike Sedin.. Toews played almost every single PK. More PK = Less 5vs5/PP. He would've scored more if he didn't have Keith slashing every 5 minutes. Kesler also played EXCELLENT that series/playoffs, nothing against him, but nothing like Toews the season before.

going with backstrom, it seems people forget he scored over 100 points not too long ago and is very solid in the defensive zone, i expect a big year from him.

So Toews managed to shut Sedin down, while Kesler was shutting Toews down? Please, explain your logic. Was Toews double shifting? Damn that guy's amazing.

I'll have my #2 and #3 centermen dealing with defensive responsibility, thanks. I'd much rather a dynamic #1 centerman who makes all players around him much better. Plus, this guy has a Hart, Art Ross, and led the West in scoring last year. Sedin is far more dynamic than anyone left on this list

You mean when the Sedin's became great players?

Or is it a coincidence that when the Sedin's were 70-80 point players they were "good" defensively?

Because when I watch them now they are brutal. The biggest reason for the Canucks' failures IMO. Awful without the puck and an embarrassment during the Bruins series. How many goals did the Canucks' score in the SCF? Like 4? lmao.... but the difference is that other players contribute more than offense. No surprise they have yet to win a Cup and never will. Upset in SCF, 1st round upset, and probably losing in the 2nd next round or so this year. Are the extra 10 points over 82 games really worth it? Not IMO. Especially considering Toews will usually outscore them in the playoffs while the Sedins continue to look foolish defensively and without the puck and add nothing to the team besides points..which they don't do very well in the playoffs anyways.

I'd easily take Kopitar, Toews over H.Sedin, but maybe it's just me.
