Cooke has higher value than Raymond.

I wouldnt want Cooke anyways.

Although it used to be hilarious how he'd single handedly dismantle the Oilers.

Am I forgetting anyone here
Most pens fans think Tangradi will make the lineup this year.

personally I would think something like
Tangradi-Malkin-Neal
Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Cooke(Raymond)-Sutter-Kennedy
Glass-Vitale-Adams/Jeffery/laundry list of others

I still feel as though the Pens need grit in the bottom-six as much as they need skill in their top-six. Cooke is one of the few in the bottom-six with the necessary grit. It would be ludicrous to flick him on for Raymond.

Raymond is super undervalued. He had a down year last year for sure, but he was coming back from a brutal spine injury. He's got awesome speed, decent hands, and he's great defensively, uses his speed nicely on the PK. Knocks are that he's not gritty and lacks chemistry with Kesler. I think that last point is the main reason why he has not excelled here.

I'd pass on Cooke. I think he does a great 3rd line job in Pittsburgh, can't see any point in moving Raymond for him.

I'd rather keep Cooke. The Pens already have their Mason Raymond in Tyler Kennedy.

I don't even look at Cooke as a trade chip to be honest, he is far more valuable to the Penguins than he would be to any team in the NHL. He's an excellent PKer and he can be a good veteran linemate for Brandon Sutter.

Pens won't trade Matt Cooke.

TK for MayRay definitely makes more sense. I would do it as a Nucks fan.

Pittsburgh would most likely do this if a 2nd/3rd rounder or something like that was added on but Vancouver would probably want to wait another season to see if Raymond rebounds. He is also a free agent next year and if he has a poor season Pittsburgh could probably get him for almost nothing.

I don't really want either. Cooke is a decent player, so is Raymond... but both would be redundant in Van. Don't need either guy for the PK, I'd rather let Shroeder/Kassian/Jensen get a shot in the top 6 over Raymond, and I'd rather bump Lapierre up to the 3rd line (maybe not a popular opinion, but he's earned it, IMO) then move Cooke in.

Only reason I'd be a little hesitant with moving Raymond right now - the injury affected his offseason training bigtime. legit chance he can bounce-back to 20-25 goals.

Not a chance Pitt does this. Vanouver adds. Raymond is totally useless.

Nope, we're keeping Tangradi. We need his size.

I think that's a bit harsh. A good PKer, likely to put up between 35 and 45 points with 25 goal upside isn't useless. But I agree that Pittsburgh and Van aren't ideal trade partners.

I'd be interested in Kennedy for Raymond if he's on the block.

I'd rather just keep Kennedy, they'll likely put up similar numbers, but Raymond is much too soft for a checking line role. Not that Kennedy is a bruiser, but he'll drive the net, go into corners and take a hit to make a play.

Thanks but no thanks. Really, that's okay.

In a way, I'm disappointed that Cooke used his one brain cell to tone it down. I really wanted to see him banned for life. He really deserved it way more than Avery.

Not that bad of a deal, but i'd still give Tangradi 1 more chance. This is his final chance with the Pens, if he struggles early on I can see Shero moving him

Tangradi for Raymond gets a thumbs up, under the right conditions, but Cooke for Raymond is a no. I mean I'm happy to oblige, but I thought Tangradi > Cooke, even with the latter finding religion or something.

If we can talk Ruutu into returning, likely with a dumptruck full of money, we'd have some of the most annoying players around...we'd just need a Neil or a Parros to finish what they start.

Were talking about a team that employs max lapierre and alex burrows, cooke has too much class to go back to Van
