Because he's better than Radulov and has chemistry with Datsyuk and Ovechkin.

It was the Russian National team. Ovie - Dats - Semin was the top line for them at the WC this year.

Anyone know when they start playing? I'd like to witness some of this Jumbo Joe/ Nash domination.

@NLA:
Nash, Thornton, Bäckström (confirmed?), Couture, Streit... NLA is starting to look like the league Linus Omark tried to escape: the NHL.

@Landeskog:
Nothing against Norway, but Landeskog should play in a more competitive environment at this point of his career. AHL, SEL, another European top league.

I just think he needs time on the small ice to get used to the North American game and he needs it at least as bad as any Red Wings prospect.

Wouldn't Davos need to get rid of one of Taticek, Sykora and Marha, because otherwise they would get be over the allowed four foreign players?

Sykora is injured, maybe broken clavicle. And the rule is four foreign players allowed on the ice, not on the team ! I believe each team can use 8 foreign player's license in one season !

Can someone clarify the Malkin/Gonchar signings for me? TSN keeps saying they're signed THROUGH the 12-13 season. Does that mean that they have to stay in Russia even if the lockout ends? I'm confused by it since I don't hear "through the 12-13 season" for any other lockout signing in Europe.

No. According to the KHL rules for these "lock out contracts":

Quote:
"Contracts our teams enter into with NHL players must be enforceable until April 30 of next year, to the end of the 2012-2013 season. However, every contract must have a clause allowing unilateral termination at the end of the NHL lockout. Of course, no compensation is to be paid for such termination."

I know Mettallburg offered him, I wouldn't be surprised if he took it to play with Malkin.

Still not confirmed, but there"s apparently a big chance (according to their GM), that Radek Martinek, Martin Hanzal, Andrew Ference and maybe even Andrej Sekera will be playing for the HC Ceske Budejovice in the czech extraleague. In the case of a longer lockout, Vinnie Prospal, Radek Dvorak and Milan Michalek might be coming too...

Anyone hear anything about Marian Hossa? Remember him playing for hometown Trencin a bit and then Mora in SEL last lockout. Now I wonder if he will play again at home or maybe with bro in KHL? Or will he rest with the concussion issue?

I think he's going to go to the Slovakian KHL team with the rest of his countrymen.

From Wikipedia :

While some NHL players decided to play in various European leagues others decided to remain in North America. Around that time, the "4-on-4 Challenge" (i.e. four players and a goalie on the ice) was initiated. This NHLPA organized tournament was played over the course of three days from the 10th to the 12th of November 1994 during the owners' lockout of 1994-95, all the games were played in Hamilton Canada's Copps Coliseum. In the end, Team Ontario beat out Team USA, Team Western Canada and Team Quebec to win the tournament, which raised more than half a million dollars to support the Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of Canada and minor hockey associations throughout North America. Many NHL superstars, notably Patrick Roy, Luc Robitaille, Brett Hull, Joe Sakic, Doug Gilmour, Rob Blake and Mike Richter, took part in this competition.

Also in the meantime, Wayne Gretzky and some friends formed the Ninety Nine All Stars Tour and played some exhibition games in various countries.
