Pretty sure you're right.

Didn't the KHL say that the contract had to be no more than 65% of the player's NHL contract?

The SEL will appeal the decision, but teams will be allowed to sign players. The appeal seems to be about the league wanting to make their own decisions as a league on things like this, but they will indeed let the clubs make their own decisions on NHL players. It's messy..

Steen to Modo is a done deal.

Erik Karlsson was rumored to Jokerit (his friend Jarkko Ruutu plays here) but I'm pretty sure he ends up in Sweden and I guess he is not interested about KHL.

Sean Bergenheim not coming to Jokerit Helsinki says Jokerit GM Jarmo Kekäläinen (Former St. Louis Blues assistant GM).

And like said before Teemu Selänne has open spot in Jokerit if he wants it or will he stay with family in Cali.

It's not when you have the money to spend. It would be silly to keep it in the bank until you die IMO.

Don't know if it's been posted, but Loui Eriksson is rumored to play in the SEL with Frolunda. If he plays there, he'll be playing on the same team as Henrik Lundqvist.

SEL teams aren't even allowed to sign NHL'ers as of yet.

My bad. Forgot about that. I've just seen that from some of the Stars media.

Why would they give him a $4 million bonus on a contract with a out clause.

It totally defeats the purpose of the 65% max contract.

Actually they are allowed until kkv comes up with another decision. If hockeyligan doesn't allow NHL-players in SEL they risk fines about 3 000 000 USD

http://sport.lidovky.cz/pardubice-ul...port-hokej_vrb

http://hokej.idnes.cz/hudler-ani-kre..._hok_1liga_elv

First is an NHL blog run by realiable people, second and third source are web pages of reliable national newspapers. All three of them quote either Pardubice GM Ondrej Sebek or Pardubice sports manager Petr Hemsky (btw my apologies, a few times in this thread I said Hemsky is their GM but he has a little bit different job) that "they were and still are trying to land Krejci but the costs of his insurance are very high." Sebek even said that they're trying to figure out a few alternatives but even the least expensive one is still unrealistic for Pardubice.

Another native from Kladno signed in the Czech Extraliga: Michael Frolik goes to KLH Chomutov.

Teams would rather have Malkin, Kovy, Ovi and other big players from the NHL then abide by the 65% max contract rule. The bonus might not be a straight up 4 million, it could be something like a $80000 a game bonus.

players now could sign in the Swedish league, they took out the rule. Lundqvist, Karlsson and Eriksson all rumored to join Frolunda.

RDS said that with Ak Bars Kazan, but club does not want any NHLer (info a few days ago). Nothing official yet, we will see later.
