1st Overall Pick...
If there is no season this time around, then I assume they will repeat the draft lottery like in 05. Imagine we win this lottery...I have had dreams where we picked 2nd and now had Seth Jones beside Letang and added to our already crazy deep defensive prospects pool.

My question is:

Realistically, what draft pick number do you think we would get with out chances?

Realistically, it'd probably be between 15-20 which would make it okay. Not bad but not good. I would be happy with anything in the top 15 in such a deep draft.

The enjoyment of watching the collective heads explode on the Flyer and Ranger boards would be worth more to me than anyone we actually would draft.

I don't want the pick...it would make this place unreadable.

You'd figure that if there was a straight lottery again, we'd have a 66% chance of getting a top 20 pick. Good odds.

If there's a lockout, Uncle Gary will OWE US bigtime. He's already set up EDM with rigged lotteries of star players. It's time to give us the next one again. Realistically no one should ever win another lottery besides the Oilers and Penguins even if we make the playoffs every year for the foreseeable future. Winning generational talents through the lottery is pretty much our right.

MacKinnon belongs with Crosby anyway since he's from Nova Scotia and gets the "next one" label already.

Not just Nova Scotia, but MacKinnon is actually from Crosby's home town of Cole Harbor - even went to the same High School to play hockey in Minnesota.

This all getting kinda scary. The stars are lining up - the NHL season is doomed, and it is absolutely improbable the Pens would not win this lottery.

For it is Nathan's destiny to rule the NHL side by side with Crosby as hockey godbrothers. The Crosby's are distantly related to Clan MacKinnon, and we all know at the heart of any great world changing event - is a Scotsman.

6 cups guaranteed baby!

And HFBoards would be blowing up every day for a decade.

Just dug up some interesting stuff on Clan Crosby and Clan MacKinnon

This some pretty powerful stuff here folks.

I think we can all take from this that there will be no NHL season.

The Pens will win the Lottery.

Draft MacKinnon.

And once joined by another Scotsman as team-mates, line-mates, and soul-mates, Sid's play will rise to sites unseen since the NHL decided to outlaw offense.

The 300 point barrier will be broken for the first time in history come the 2015 season.
