I still can't get my head around the idea of why Joey is our #2 QB. Against the Riders he played three quarters 0 points. Calgary almost the full half 0 points. Toronto over a half 0 points. Im not saying Brink is much better but atleast he can put some points on the board.

The two and out twins are both equally bad and neither is ever going to be a CFL starting QB, time to bring in a couple of prototype CFL QB's and start from scratch.

We still have to finish the season with someone. Im just saying IMO it should be Brink or even Goltz. Just please no more check down Joey.

No argument here, actually I think Brink has more tools to play in the CFL, Elliot is a sitting duck out there and for a guy with a so-so arm playing QB in pro football will be a short lived profession.

From what I've seen if brink, I like him. I think with hard work he could be a starter. It'll be a project.

Elliot is just so bad. It's not even funny how hugely terrible he is. I don't know if its just a lack of seasoning or he just doesn't have the tools or w/e...but it's just sad.

Just hire whoever scouted QBs for Calgary in the Flutie, Garcia, Dickenson, Burris era or BC in the Jackson, Pierce, Lulay, and Printers era.

I had lots of hope for Elliott, but his lack of mobility and inability to push the ball downfield is going to limit what he can do as a pro QB.

As much as I want to take a patient approach with Brink and Elliott, they're in their 4th and 3rd years (respectively) as pro QBs. They have shown precious little development to date, and by this point, you really can't use inexperience as an excuse. And it's not like they've got a brutal team around them. The receivers (today's gongshow notwithstanding) are talented, the offensive line has steadily improved, and Simpson has been running strong. The offensive problem lie almost exclusively with the QBs.

I say 'almost' because a large amount of blame needs to be placed on the Gary Crowton experiment. This quick hitting offensive philosophy he has is absolutely useless when you're not stretching teams vertically. I really had high hopes for how his 'Air Raid' philosophy would translate on the CFL field, but it's become quite apparent that it's not working.

Brinks arm is significantly stronger than Elliott's. Not sure where you would get that idea? He had consistently shown the ability to throw the ball deep, and gun it over the middle. It's Brink's slower release and questionable decision making that are the problems with him.

I'm not sure if either are starters, but I think that no QB would have a chance with this team. Tear it down and try again. What a joke. Even the guys that should be keepers like Watson were just beyond brutal right now. Just embarrassing watching this team...

Did anyone else see Buck's hands shaking like crazy on the sidelines.

Guy needs to quit or he'll be dead by 40

The guy's a warrior. He'll be fine.

He's our only hope.

lol, if Buck is our only hope, then all hope is lost (and as far as this season goes, it is). Buck is done. I say get Goltz in and see if he has any potential...

We saw Goltz a couple of weeks ago. He's got nothing either.

It makes me ill to watch a career backup walk into our stadium and run all over the place having his way like he's the second coming of Doug Flutie.

Yup, we have seen numerous backups come in and play well, Glenn, Joseph, Jackson, Willy etc.

Did you help Lawless with his article?

Deep-six all the QBs

Buck, Brink, Elliott are good guys, but they're the worst pivots in CFL

Laughed at that myself, Isn't Lawless insightful? My mother-in-law also said the Blue Bombers need a new QB but that was weeks ago.

The Bombers have unseasoned quarterbacks. But what have they done to try to give them individual training and mentoring?

They need a Dickinson or a Khari Jones to give one-on-one coaching both in practice and in game situations. Instead, they list Crowton as the O/C and QB coach.

Buck is a great person in the community, and while I do not believe in telling any adult what they can and can not do, I do hope that Bomber management tells him that he can no longer be a quarterback on this football team on account of health concerns. I would love to see the guy in Bomber colours as a consultant or quarterbacks coach or something. But health is far more important then the game of football.

I will forever remember 'football Cuthbert' for the call he made on the Milt Stegall hail mary reception against the Eskies with time running out that won the game for the Bombers... he was like "oh no!!"

Poor guy

If we had seasoned quarterbacks Lawless would probably try to eat them.
