This team is not as talented as last year.
And blaming richard harris' death is an easy cop out as far as i am concerned
Of Course we are not a good as last year he said that we had to make changes to the roster after losing Brown and Labatte
People want him to be Honest and he was. Its true that Richard Harris death has been the true turning point to this franchise everything changed after he died and we are still missing that presence.

I dunno about that
To me, he just said out loud with what many Bomber fans have been thinking regarding how much Harris' death just...took something from this team
It was something more that was lost, and Mack's mistake was going too young (i.e. 2010 all over again but to an even greater extent) and forgetting how important leaders are...real leadership
I really hope Burke can turn things around, I've been a huge Burke fan for a long time and the situation he's in does not give him a chance to really right the ship, so I hope he can really pull the guys together and at least allow him to be a proper HC next year with his own hires. He is certainly awesome to listen to in interviews...light hearted and humorous...and his attitude is awesome
Mack is getting a lot of fan angst, but I don't think we're a better football club without him. He's a good GM overall, he's just made the wrong moves at the wrong times because he desperately wants to win a cup.
In fact, I think the worst thing the club could do is yet ANOTHER full on switch at the GM position along with ANOTHER full on rebuild; then we'll have to put the Grey Cup pursuit on hold for yet another year
We're all pissed off, I mean I'm not exactly happy with the situation either, but I don't think firing Mack is really going to do anything good. I don't agree with all his moves either, but overall, I think he is one of the better GMs in the league. He has a nose for football players, and too much focus is made on what he has done wrong. I hope he learns from it.
this year has just been bad luck and misfortune exemplified at the worst of times, and 22 years of no cup victory has just been the breaking point for many fans...going back to the 2010 "rebuild" mode with younger, newer players, makes the coaches and record look worse than it is
nevermind the rest of the league is trying really hard to turn their own respective fortunes around
^ careful King, we know how the Sun works....they're not real reporters, they sell their paper based on gossip and what gets people emotionally wound up
I wouldn't put Friesen's words as the whole truth; likely he said something to a vet who didn't know the context and is reporting exaggerations, as he usually does. Its how Sun reporters work man.
That said, there may also be truth to what that player said...just subjectively. I'm sure if you asked another player they could say it might have an effect on them.
Doug Brown spoke of something similar several times this season, and I would personally take his word about the team over Friesen's second handed exaggerations & negatron gossip promoting any day.
I know you love the team and expect only greatness from them, and I don't blame you or any other fan for being upset and angry right now (I am pretty upset with management too) but let's not let it snowball...let's try to look at both sides
I agree with KW. The death of someone close to you is definitely tough, I've been through it a number of times. Just like everybody else. I think that blaming their poor performance on his death is very cheap and definitely a cop out. I've never met the man, but I'm pretty sure Mr. Harris would agree.
Be a man Mack and up to your mistakes.
That being said, I doubt firing him now is going to make a difference now anyways. Might as well wait till the seasons over.
I can't get over that totally out of line "Family" comment.
Your a bloody sports team that hasn't won a championship in a 8 team league in 22 years. Sure the first 5 years were okay, but there is an entire generation that only knows the team as mediocore.
Joe needs to man up and take the blame of rebuilding a team that didn't need to be. Coach Harris did not dismantle this team, it was you. It was not LaPo that forced Crowton down his neck, it was you and it sure is hell isn't the fans fault for being pissy at the awful season the Bombers have had. Joe, do your self a favor and go, even if your not fired, because you understand deep down of what a mess you've done to this team.

I'm getting pretty tired of everyone crapping on this team.
Maybe Harris had intangibles as a coach that are now missing, whether they be tactics or motivation?
PS. Just vilifying everyone involved with the Bombers, as is the theme on this board and fans in general, is pretty cheap and a cop-out as well. It's all pot-kettle-black, if you ask me.
