Yeah, and way too late, too. I think when compared to some of the other guys in his class -- Hanowski, Wilson, Kuhnhackl, Agostino & Marcantuoni -- Archibald may well be considered to be the safest bet to be a top-9 NHL forward and impact player.
I'm interested in why you think that. To me Archibald has serious question marks going into his sophomore season. One, he is very small (5'10 & 170 lbs) which will be a downside in the pros no matter which role he plays. And then he had a very uneven freshman year. Half his points came in a six-game streak in November. After that he put up only 4 points in the remaining 22 games, including zero in his last 12. Was he injured? The only noteworthy thing he did last season was making a weak U.S. WJC team, and that surely was in part because the head coach was also his college coach. He needs to show me a lot more before I put him above any of the guys you mentioned (except maybe Marcantuoni who needs to play a full season first).
Ive been voting for Zatkoff. He sounds like he's got a good chance of becoming our next backup gaolie which at this point would be good enough. I guess Grant and Ruopp should both be soon too.
