I have no realized that Avs fans consider him an immature, locker room mess.
His offense slumped a lot due to his injuries and just like Paul Stastny, his offense has greatly regressed.
The Avs obviously don't have full faith in him as they only gave him a 2 year deal to show them he can get back to full flight.
What would you trade for him?
Please do not tell me this is because Landeskog was named captain before RNH?
Also if any Avs fans are actively trying to get rid of Duchene I'll slap'em myself.

I bet they'd move Statsny before Duchene, and I doubt they're looking to trade either. Someone would need to throw them an offer too good to refuse for them to dump Duchene while his value is probably the lowest it's ever been.
Hey OP how bout you do some research before coming and talking out of your ***. He had one rough season due to injuries. Ive never heard anything about him being a locker room mess. If anything, hes one of the classiest and most humble guy on the team. Hes well liked by all his teammates and pretty mature for his age. the 2 year deal he signed shows that hes a team first guy and is willing to take a pay cut to redeem himself to the team and the fans.
So you ask for his value? id say Hall + 2nd round would do it
While he should be at the top of the roster for points most years, he was never going to be the leader of this team. At this point, he still has a ways to go to get an A.
If he were actually made available you would get a lot in return.
I'd guess a top-6 forward, top-4 dman and blue-chip prospect (or 1st) rd. pick would be in play. I don't really know what the Avs are looking for though to be honest.
I think the reason they are saying some of those things is because of Duchene's recent struggles and injuries. He is not even close to being ready to accept a large leadership role and therefore would not be considered for captain at all. Especially with all of the other young leaders on the team growing into their own roles on the team.

Regardless of last season, he is a gem.
A top 6 forward, a top 4 defenseman, and a blue chip prospect? That's too much for almost anyone in the league.

Yeah he is immature. He is 21 years old and immature. Big deal.
I definitely want to trade him because he is not absolute captain material like Landeskog. I mean we probably should trade him straight up for Mike Richards. Just imagine Landeskog on Richards wing. The opposing players would just be overwhelmed with there leadership and forfeit the game.....
Really people. Why would we want to get rid of him just because he is not captain material at age 21? He still is the most talented player on the Avs and one of the most talented guys in the
league. He does not measure up to Landeskog in the leadership department just yet. That is why Avs fans commented on Matty being immature and not captain material.

And you would be wrong, i'm a Duchene fan but I think your overvaluing him at this point in time.
