T.J. Grant vs Clay Guida is a fight I would love to see after that 152 performance
Jones' crabwalk at the start of fights is getting extremely tedious. I was glad to see Vitor take a kick at his head and even happier to see Big John scold Jones for "playing the game".
Hypothetical: Belfort connects with a soccer kick and is disqualified after he KO's Jones 4 seconds into the fight.

I like Anderson / Bisping ... advantage Anderson on paper, but one of these days he's going to start to slow down, and Bisping showed enough wrestling at 152 to make me at least somewhat hopeful. Enjoyed 152, good card and the last 3 fights were wonderful.

I've know about TJ before he ever fought in the UFC. He's from my hometown and i have friends who went to school with him. He's a pretty chilled guy who works for everything he's got. He's put together a nice string of 3 straight wins.Lightweight seems to be a good weight class for Grant too.

Disappointed in Hollett who looked clunky and one-dimensional. It was great to see him on the big stage though ... so whatever. Also very impressed with Grant/Dunham... just a war between those two.

That was one hell of a gash Dunham had on his forehead. Looked like someone took an axe to him. Fun fight to watch.
Another big win for Cub Swanson, a guy who I figured would get cut in 2012 after his loss in Nov/11, as he continues to prove me wrong about not being a UFC caliber fighter. I've picked him to lose 3x this year and each time he's KO/TKO'd his opponent.

Bisping/Silva is interesting. Bisping is very well rounded...he isn't amazing at one thing but solid in all areas to where it would be competitive.
Silva eats jack of all trades types for breakfast. I completely understand the money/hype side of the fight, but there's no question that Weidman poses a much bigger threat. Bisping has no power, so he's not gonna TKO Anderson, and I seriously doubt he survives 25 minutes without a Cote type chin. So that leaves a sub. Bisping hasn't won a fight by submission in 7 years. You give Silva Bisping next it will be two consecutive fights where Silva's more than a 10 to 1 favorite. Complete waste IMO. (And yes I know the odds won't actually be that high if he fights Bisping, but they should be. Bisping has no path to victory.)

Yup, agreed. The 125 and 135 weight classes need a ton of work to gain fans. They need guys to finish fights, not Cruz's and DJ's at the top of the division.

I agree about Bisping. IMO, this was the best fight of the night. I think he's well deserving of a shot against Silva.
3 of the 8 flyweight bouts were finishes. I'd say it's pretty much on par with other WCs.
It's just my opinion.
I think the UFC is trying way too hard to ram the lighter weight classes down our throat. Currently there's no stars at 125, 135, 145 (except Faber) and arguably 155 (Frankie & Benson aren't PPV draws). There's just no reason for 4 weight classes spread across a 30 pound differential.

I think its purely so that the UFC can grow worldwide, as many countries they are trying to push into have a large amount of their fighter population that would fall in these weights. Unfortunately the North American fans still don't have a lot of interest in these classes.
Like I said during the fight, it wasn't a bad fight but nothing special either. I'm just not a fan of the smaller weight classes.

I like Dana, but the UFC is going to need to understand that there are a lot of pretty big fans who fall into this category (myself included). This whole attitude of, if you don't like it, then screw you, isn't ultimately going to work. It's already very evident (to apparently everyone but them) by taking a quick look at recent PPV numbers. No question they deserve tremendous credit for building the sport up to what it is today, but this gunslinger mentality of theirs is not going to further the sport or their brand.

I don't put 155 in the same class as the other smaller divisions. I really like 155 and IMO it's one of the best divisions in the UFC.

I liked WEC. They should have just left that alone. Im wondering if the ring/cage was smaller in WEC?
Does anyone know? The WEC cards were usually pretty good. Better than the smaller weight class fights have been in the ufc.
Now I tend to find other things to do when a Bantam Weight fight or something like that comes on. I pretty much know its going to be a fifteen minute fight, and it likely will be a lot of shucking and jiving, and patty cake punches.

And Dana is the moron for watering down the sport. Popularity of mma is dwindling. The decreased activity on this board is just one example of that.
155 is one of the deepest and talented weight classes in the UFC. I like it. I like 145 as well as I feel its getting stronger. I lose interest in 135 and 125...i know they are skilled fighters but I just find it boring.
