Puck Prospectus: Top Blackhawks Prospects

Usually I would put this in the Prospect thread, but summer is slow and there may be a lockout coming so why not make a whole new thread.

http://www.puckprospectus.com/articl...din&mode=login

The short list:

1. Teuvo Teravainen, Left Wing
2. Brandon Saad, Left Wing
3. Brandon Pirri, Center
4. Mark McNeill, Center
5. Jeremy Morin, Right Wing
6. Adam Clendening, Defense
7. Phillip Danault, Left Wing
8. Kevin Hayes, Left Wing
9. Dillon Fournier, Defense
10. Kyle Beach, Left Wing

Organizational Ranking: 6th

I thought this was a puck genius thread for a moment. I am also in favor of TiVo over Saad. He's the playmaking #2 center we've been creaming our jeans over.

I was kind of surprised to see Broadhurst ranked 15th. I personally would have had Shalunov or Nordstrom ahead of him, just as forwards.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Teuvo develop. I think he has a very exciting future!

That's kinda what they said about Pirri. I'm a big fan of his and still a big fan of Beach.

Dan Rosen of NHL.COM has Saad, #1 , Pirri #2, TT is rated at #5 and Johns as #10. Beach and Morin are up there as well. I like his prospect rating better as it is more immediate.

TT has plenty of potential, but guys like Saad and Pirri should be in the NHL sooner, rather than later and possibly Beach and Morin as well. For that reason, I think they rate higher than a 17 year old player who is returning overseas to play next season. Id rather he play in NA personally, however, it does appear quite likely that TT will be Hawks #1 prospect in a year or two, and it will be interesting to see how fast he progresses.

Here is the Dan Rosen article:

I think it just depends on the criteria you use. I'd rate Teuvo higher than most of those b/c of his potential - but if you're taking proximity to NHL into account (and thus likelihood of reaching potential) then there are others I would move up.

Somehow I doubt TT and Saad are potential 90's in the game so I am pretty sure he made those himself.

God I hope those are NHL 13 ratings. My Hawks GM Connected team is going to be stacked.

I do like the idea of 2 ratings. Offensively, TT seems to be easily our best prospect long term but in long term overall potential, imo, its still Saad because of his overall game, particularly his hockey smarts and physicality. Similar to comparing the games of Kane and Toews. One is pretty to watch and quite valuable, the other gets the job done in every situation.

Based on the various ratings I have read, it is Danault that seems to be the one rising in value, and he may be the sleeper prospect in the end. I like Pirris progress as well. If we ever do get a training camp this season, I will be interested to see how he fares.
