Cole contributes more than goals. Some Dmen find him as hard to stop as a charging rhinoceros. I don't think Yannick Weber could stop him.

Age is relative

Ray Whitney and Selanne are still beasts at the end of their career. Cole is not old yet. When he eventually does start to slow down, he'll still be a menace on the 2nd line.

I did a search for forwards who scored at least 30 goals at 33 years old, post-lockout. Here are their goals scored the following season, with the difference between seasons in brackets:

Blake 15 (-25)
Iginla 32 (-11)
Jagr 30 (-24)
Knuble 24 (-10)
St Louis 29 (-1)
Rolston 31 (0)
Alfredsson 29 (-14)
Briere 16 (-18)
Samuelsson 18 (-12)

Recent history tells us that Cole will likely slow down this season, if there is one.

I think he hits 30 regardless, because we are all expecting Montreal to be better this year meaning more production in goals.

Depends if they break up the Pac-DD-Cole line which I suspect they might try if they don't continue where they left off last season.

Pac-Plekanec-Gionta (I think this line could do some damage I can see Pleks and Gio's speed result in many 2 on 1's).
Armstrong-Desharnais-Cole (2 bigger guys supporting playmaking Desharnais)
Moen-Eller-Gallagher(or LL) (3A young offensively potent secondary scoring)
Prust-Gomez-White (3B line Energy)
(Bourque IR/Nok 13th forward)

Pac-Plekanec-Gionta
Cole-Desharnais-Armstrong
Prust-Eller-Gallagher
White-Gomez-Leblanc
(Bourque IR/Nok 13th forward)
i dont think we will see Gallagher for a full season,

Pac - Pleks - Gio
Cole - DD - Leblanc/Bourque(depending on situation)
Moen - Eller - Armstrong/Prust
White - Noki/Gomer - Armstrong/Prust

I forgot about Moen , it's been a long off season.

ya didn't want to point that out like 'hey you missed moen' then you'll feel like a loser. Assumed you would figure it out.

It's not like he is a new acquisition , I've always liked Moen too I honestly would give
A.Kostitsyn a resign just to reunite him with Moen and Eller (it also doesn't hurt that AK46 is my favorite player ).

Pacs-Desharnais-Cole
Armstrong-Plekanec-Gionta
Moen-Eller-A.Kos
Prust-Gomez-White
(Noki = 13th forward , Gomez replacement in case of AHL demotion)
(LL first call up due to injuries/Gallagher second )

I know this looks like our 2011-2012 line-up but Gionta was injured and a year of progression for Eller/Pacs/Desharnais/Eller could mean the world in terms of on ice production
not including Armstrong who can be a very serviceable 2nd line player and a full season of Markov.
