Weird first 2 shifts for Malkin, got caught flat footed both, and weird ran into the legs of opposing player, first time they had the puck, the second time I don't know what he was doing. Awkward shifts for sure.

Malkin is oviously rusty, which is understandable - not a competitive game since spring.
And Gonchar is painful to watch that rush was arrrgh.

well, it was an entertaining game. Malkin was good, Gonchar was bad. Zinoviev was great.)

When Moris put Lisin next to Malkin, this line became much better. Hope they will find chemestry and start to crush opponents.

I still remember how horrid he was in the Pens-Habs series a couple of year ago. Big ice won't help.

The Great 8 wears #32. A young d-man Barantsev is #8.

Ovechkin took his old Dynamo number.
Btw, I was glad to hear that he wouldn't accept Dynamo captaincy even if he was offered to because it would be disrespectful to team leaders. Respect. Unlike You-know-who.

Semin? Radulov?

Would've thought that the Stadium would've been full for his debut though.

Not sure if he asked for this, but he was made a captain. That's on a team full of veterans and well-respected players. Whether it is good or not for team chemistry - yours to decide.
Spartak fans also feel offended by Kovy going to another team after saying how he would love to play for his home team, but this captaincy story is just

That just proves again that you can put Pittsburgh Penguins there with Crosby et al but people will still not go to games and not because it's Moscow but because marketing is not working and arena sucks... When Minsk had their old barn instead of Minsk arena their attendance also was 2500, St. Petersburg before the marketing started to work also had 30% or so lower attendance...

People try to find excuses in football's popularity in the city, traffic jams, the fact that Moscow generally hates hockey etc. bullsh** things while at the core of the problem is that they're playing in a barn usually and nobody even tries to market their teams...

Has anyone noticed a 1994 6'4'' Defense Mironov? I know he's not exactly News News, but it is very impressive that he is getting PP and PK time on a stacked Dynamo team. He looks strong and mobile too. A few fumbles, but it's nothing considering at 18 yrs old he's receiving a pass from Ovi in KHL.

If he keeps this up, it would be a crime not to take him to WJC. Could Russia have a superstar Defenseman lining up? Finally?! I hope so!

Acallabeth said there's a lot of injuries on the defense of Dynamo.
