I've started lifting weights again for the first time seriously since junior year in high school. Almost have my squat up to 200 and my bench is nearing 175. Hopefully by the end of the semester i'll be lifting 225+ again.

Feels good. Hopefully I can get back down to 180 pounds by the end of the semester as well.

I can do leg press 310 for 5 foot 10 140lbs.

But my weight lifting. lolol. Any tips on helping jelly arms? Really sore and rubbery feeling.

Once you get the hang of it, the poke check is great.

Stifle the offense before they get anything going.

I'm no means an expert at all, but really just lift what you can consistently and make sure your form is correct.

I live by Starting Strength, download/buy that if you get the chance and you really wanna weight lift. Some really good stuff there.

I wish they had kept it so that if you hold the poke check your guy sweeps his stick back and forth. I keep holding it down and my guy just stands there like an idiot until I remember.

If you want to increase your bench press weight, lift, and after every set do as many pushups as you can until you fail. Keep doing that until you are done with your workout.

Also, try to incorporate dips and skull crushers (not sure what else to call them) into your workout and your bench press will increase quickly.

Bieber, 18 years old, is described as having "soft hands, a good skating stride, and a devastating wrist shot capable of beating NHL caliber goaltenders."

I just want to say if Justin Beiber ends up playing in the NHL i'm going to ****ing eat an IUD.

I don't know if there's a thread about this already, but he was offered an ECHL contract to play with the Condors. He's being compared to Mike Ribeiro...

Thank god we have a "global strategic maple syrup reserve"!

Friggin Canadians. That country won't last through a full year without hockey. They are stealing syrup now to compensate hahaha

Also, if you're just beginning and want to use the bench press, don't do it just yet. Use the equivalent weight in dumbbells so you won't develop a bias on your strong side. When you bench press and you favor one side; say you're right, the right side will be pushing more than the left. If you're using free weight dumbbells, 70 pounds is 70 pounds on both sides of the body.

As mentioned, Diamond, widearm and decline pushups after using freeweights will increase your bench and offset any right/left bias.

The key is reaching muscle failure.

I have Hashimoto's disease which can lead to Hypothyroidism, but I'm far from an expert on the subject.

traded to the Flyers in Chel 13 early on... Then when I play 1st game with them I get the w in a 3-1 decision, next day they trade Syvret for T. Selanne. Still crappy D in-game. I'm facing like, 30 shots or more per game

I play goalie IRL. I'm fascinated by it. I love playing and the rush is great. I like it in the game too, cause online you poke check the guys who just come in and suck, they get maaaad. But I'm in the 3rd period of a game vs the Debs. up 2-1. I made 16 of 17 saves so far

While he's far cry from an NHL player, I'm 90% sure he grew up playing AA in Canada and if not, then it was definitely A. He's a better player than the majority of the posters on this board and could have been an ECHL-level player if he stayed dedicated to hockey rather than music.

That said, I highly doubt he would make the team if he did decide to try out.
