I'm thinking a Henrique, and maybe a red Kovy with a C if he is captain. I got the white Kovy with the A which was delivered to me on Valentines Day when he scored that hat trick against Buffalo!

I'm the same way. During the lockouts for both the NHL and NFL I don't buy anything related to the league and throw all my clothes in the closet.

I intend on buying a Red jersey of our next captain once they start playing though.

I completely agree. And it's so ****ing frustrating...

I just kills me that my favorite sport by far is going for the ****ing lockout hat trick since 95. You know, I don't give a **** about the lip service. All I see on twitter all day is the players tweeting about how they just want to play. Means nothing to me...Get the deal done. At the end of the day I don't care about the he said she said ****. I want results. The league is finally recovering from the last lockout and gaining popularity given how many casual fans they've picked up from the Hawks/Pens/Bs cups. Another lockout will destroy the league.

And you know it's bad when it really makes me hate the sport. I've been playing hockey since I was 4 years old outside in North Dakota on the pond. It ****ing burns me inside that this is happening..

Lockout hat trick. Pretty sad, but a good term.

I already have a signed red Henrique and a signed red Kovy authentic with the A. It's funny, I love the Devils red jerseys. I have 11 total and 10 are red. It's just a gorgeous jersey..

I prefer the red too. Most of what I have are red. The white get kinda dirty too, and I don't really like washing them much.

Tom Gulitti @TGfireandice

RT @cotsonika: Bill Daly and Steve Fehr did indeed have dinner last night, but that did not lead to the scheduling of more formal talks.

If we miss a single game ( we will ) my money is going towards 49ers jerseys this year.

There is nothing to talk about until both sides determine how far they want to go. I believe those meetings are scheduled next week

I think we always knew there was a good chance that preseason would be wiped out. Once we get into October without a deal, then I'll worry.

Though with the NHL's obsession with more scoring, maybe they'd like that.

That's nice. I do like his potential and I guess management does too.
I’ve heard the argument that injuries will rise if players are allowed to kick the puck into the net, and I don’t really buy it. that’s like saying, ‘better not use slap shots any more, the stick can really dig itself into an eyeball and, upon removal, can drag out brain matter, optical nerves, and eye veins.’

if injuries happen, they happen

"I'm Brendan Shanahan with the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety. An incident occurred Saturday in the game between the Penguins and the Rangers. At 8:15 in the third period, New York forward, PLAYER X went to the net following a shot by his defense. During the save attempt, the goaltender lunged across with his blocker in an attempt to stop the rebound shot and lost his blocker as he attempted to gather the loose puck. While the puck was loose, PLAYER X had his stick lifted by the defender and chose to kick at the loose puck. As a result, player X is found to have recklessly kicked at the puck with his skates leaving the ice in violation of rule 67.9(e) while the goaltender was vulnerable on the play having lost his blocker." [insert slow motion video replay with highlight on foot kicking and slicing wrist] "Player X can clearly see the exposed wrist and ignores the official's whistle to stop play. While the resulting goal was waived off after 18 minutes of video review and the goaltender attended to by medics, the event clearly shows an reckless and illegal attempt to score a goal. For his actions, PLAYER X is suspensed for 15 games."

of course they have. so have skates, monstrous elbow pads, etc etc etc. its an arbitrary conclusion to say that players will begin wildly flailing their skates about in the crease if theyre allowed to kick the puck in.. im just not sure that every time they shovel out snow from a crease, they will also have to take that time to sew necks back together, reattach limbs, etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed this …the only thing I would change is during that slow-mo clip of the skate slicing, there should be a lot of quick flashes of subliminal images, such as the atom bomb falling, the word ‘socialism’ (to scare idiots and rednecks), a picture of the kardashians, skull and bones, etc

What are the odds that one of them snuck out of the restaurant to dump the bill on the other?

Will we still have a preseason though before the regular season starts to give the players time to adjust, and see who maybe makes the team? In 94 I'm positive the pre season was played in September with the lockout starting in the first week of October just days before the regular season was to begin. So when we started in January the teams had already had their camps, and preseason games.
