Sorry mods if this was already posted, but this is the first time I ran across it.

Sucks that his recovery seems to be going so slowly, but hopefully he gets better soon. Be really nice if that third round pick turns out to be a steal. Unfortunately it looks like it'll be awhile before we get to see him in action.

That must be one bad concussion. Hopefully he doesn't push to get back too fast. If he does, he could be risking more than his hockey career.

Hoping the Sens drs check out the spinal tissue angle (like Crosby had) because that can look/smell like concussion but is completely fixable...

Brendan Troock of the Thunderbirds had a lingering concussion as well. Then they found it was a neck injur like Crosby's.

Quote:
Originally Troock was diagnosed with a concussion. But when Troock continued suffering debilitating headaches, subsequent tests showed the headaches did not stem from the concussion. Further evaluation revealed Troock had a neck injury that affected the nerve that went to his eyes, which caused the headaches.

I don't know why everyone points to Crosby as an example when there was an Ottawa Senator player than had the spinal neck problem that was misdiagnosed as a concussion.

Has everyone forgot Antoine Vermette already.

The same reason it's call Lou Gherig's disease, not Mao Zedong disease, because he's more famous.

Actually, I had forgotten Vermette suffering from that, and the Crosby one got all the press. Sorry. Please forgive me.

Sounds like he'll not do much this year at all. Best spend some of it getting the best medical opinions

I wonder if we knew the full severity of the injury at the draft. I know this kid was projected in the first round before it, so maybe since we had 2 3rds they were fine with a long term project.

Maidens seem to be handling it well - it's gotta be tough, he looks like the type of player the WJC would love to have, he seems to play hockey the Canadian way and is a leader.
He'll be worth the wait and I hope he recovers quickly.

Any news on Iron? Is there any chance he'll be back at some point this season?
