Ryan O'Reilly vs Jordan Staal

Who would you take now? Who do you think will end up being better?

I'm worried Reilly will be a lot worse if he doesn't play with Landeskog, but I am of the opinion that Landeskog is already the best player on COL. Staal now and always.

Staal now, Staal future. I think this past season was the tip of the iceberg for Staal. I'll wager his offensive game will flourish now that he's going to placed in a more offensive role than he was in Pittsburgh. I wouldn't be shocked if he recorded close to 70 points this year in Carolina.

Staal by far. I think he will break out this year about 0,85-0,95ppg with very good defense. I say he is at least top 15 center next summer and better than E.Staal

Staal now and later fairly easily. Both are tremendous defensive and checking players but Staal simply produces more.

Staal's contract is ricockulous. 6 million for a barely 50 point player? No thank you. I'd take O'Reilly, unless he gets something equally as offensive.

Staal now and Staal in the future and it's not terribly close.

Staal isnt "barely a 50 point player". FYI he's been on a pace for 58 & 66 point seasons for the past 2 years, playing on the Pens 3rd line. And he didnt even play on the #1 PP with Sid and Malkin.

I think he's a lock for 65 points next season in Carolina but i wouldnt be surprised if he hit 70 and 30 goals. Sure, its different playing on the Pens thats a good team offensively and their 2 top lines draw opponents main attention but still, he played with players like Dupuis and Kennedy.

Staal had more d-zone starts and faced tougher opposition than Crosby or Malkin (if we believe in Qoc). And still having incredible Corsi.

Staal now and future.
