Evans can't clear the zone - check.
Paetsch makes a horrific turnover - check.
Pearce has a sv% around .850 - check.

It's really been a while since the Griffins have seen a line as deadly as Tatar-Andersson-Nyquist. They're just dominant.

I can't really feel bad for the losses when the goaltending is like it is, with Paetsch and Evans being directly involved in goals against. I was pleased with our prospects tonight.

Mrazek needs to be in GR. Pearce is awful.

I wonder if they are simply trying to build his confidence before bringing him up. i mean if he loses down there whatever but if he's winning let him feel he can stop everything bring him up and shoot cant be much worse than McCullum or Pearce

How many people are calling Sheahan a bust?

i may have exaggerated a bit using the term bust but it seems over the last couple years people have been really down on him. i still see him as a guy who could put up 40-50 points in a few years. Franzen didn't come into his own until what like his mid 20's and Sheahan actually plays defense.

I still don't see Sheahan being anything better then a third line c, though i could see him being a good third line c. He seems to work real hard ,play strong defense and is a good penalty killer, he may create some decent scoring chances with his pace and hard work but i just don't think he has the skill to ever be anything more then a 3c.

I see him as a 3rd C as well but i wouldn't be surprised to see see him be a 2nd liner either. that being said Helm-Sheahan-Tatar as a 3rd line in a few years could potentially put up some points, they all have good speed, some offensive instinct and i mean come on a few more years and Tatar will be better than Miller. it sure as hell is better than Miller-Helm-(limping)Cleary

I still Tatar has a good chance of being a good 1st/2nd line forward, he's still only 21 years old.

Evans and Paetsch were horrible signings, or tryouts or whatever they are. I can see why both of these guys are career AHLers. Those two don't bring anything near what Amadio, Janik, and Exelby brought to the team last year. Let the kids play instead of these two chumps.

BTW- Does anyone know what happened to Nicastro? I saw him get hurt on friday on his first shift and never heard anything about him.

Agreed but lets say the Brunner Experiment works out,
Nyquist-Dats-Franzen
Flip-Z-Brunner
i dont see Tatar taking Franzens spot so he would be a great 3rd liner im talking 2 years down the road not 3-5 ofcourse by that point Dats probly gone Franzen either gone or a Cleary type player.
but a line up of
Nyquist-Dats-Franzen
Flip-Z-Brunner
Helm-Sheahan-Tatar
Gator-Anderson-Tootoo
isnt bad

although i hope we trade gator for like a 3rd-4th round pic
and bring up Aubry, or Callahan to play on the 4th line

Wow after watching the highlights, there's no way Pearce should be playing. Half of those goals were just terrible.

Bertuzzi Datsyuk Tatar
Franzen Zetterbeg Brunner
Nyquist Flip Sammy
Abdelkader Helm Tootoo

Of course... we've got Cleary and Miller in the way of that. And that doesn't even consider Eaves. And that also means, of course, Mursak has no place on this team.

Man, we're wasting our young assets. There was no need to sign Bertuzzi or Sammy this year.

Why do we sign them? Because our youth isn't ready?
Well guess what. Now our youth won't be ready next year either.

The kids are getting plenty of playing time now, either way...

...it seems kind of silly to me to be arguing about summer signings when there's at least a 50/50 shot that there's no NHL season this year. I'm going to keep my powder dry until I have some reason to think there will be a season to argue about.

We can still whine about the Griffins summer signings though?

Absolutely. Pearce needs to go play doctor and let Mrazek play.

I think it would be in Griffins best interest to get Mrazek up sooner rather than later. I wouldn't expect him to be some savior, he'd have his downs too, but in the long run I think he'd stop more pucks than the other two. Right about now you'd take anyone posting >.900 numbers.

I assume McCollum is in net tonight, hoping the team isn't too tired and can give him some help.

Sorry, Sarcastro.
Tell me when it's OK to have a conversation about the Red Wings roster and the kids, and I'll post then.
