André Petersson

So what's up with this guy?

What's his top end NHL potential, and what are his chances of getting there? Does he have a good shot at being an NHLer? Is he top 6 or bust, or could he play bottom 6?

Would like to hear from Bingo fans as well, and what they expect from him this season. Is he expected to lead the team in scoring?

I personally can't ever seeing Andre Petersson being a cliche 3rd liner.

Well I'm interested in the impact he'll have in Ottawa. Why can we have thread for Zibanejad, Turris, Greening, Smith, but no threads about Petersson?

I thought he did well for his first year in NA, 2nd in scoring with 44pts. on a really bad Bingo team.

Yup, one of the few bright spots on an otherwise forgettable campaign. The guy is undersized, but the combination of speed and his shot deadly. He's either top 6 or bust, can't see him being effective in any other role.

I could see him playing top 6 eventually, but I'm not too sure if it would be for the Sens. Like others have posted I believe with his style of game he's top 6 or bust. With the log jam of talented wingers we have in our prospect pool it will be tough for him to find that roll here.

He's more gritty than people give him credit for. I could see him play on the third line in a Mason Raymond type role, so I don't think he's absolutely top 6 or bust.

I could also see him play with Turris or Spezza and score 20-25 goals someday. Like AP mentioned, he has a killer wrister that could help him make it on a line since our centers are playmakers.

Having said that, I think he will eventually get traded. I don't think he has much of a chance due to Silf Stone and Zib being a higher priority. Or he could possibly fill in if Guillaume gets his annual injury.

I think Hoffman was the best player on Bingo last year, but I think Andre has more upside, but Hoff is the a safer bet. For a rookie euro on a terrible team, he impressed me a ton. Playing first line minutes with an AHL superstar in Locke definentely helped, but even when Locke was injured, he still played pretty well. He was streaky, but most scorers are, especially rookies.

(ps - I watched ~12-15 bingo games last year.)

He was great with Locke and Da Costa, but had zero chemistry with Cannone.

It was painful trying to watch those two play together. Absolutely facepalm worthy.

cool.

I'm scared that the Sens will let him go because they don't see him beating out other guys in the top 6...

That's exactly why I'm optimistic about his pro chances. With both our playmakers on Bingo, he was great. It just do happens we have a top 3 passer in the league, and another pass first center in our top 6.

I just hope he doesn't go back to Sweden (after the lockout ends obviously) because I think he's close with a little more fine tuning his defense. I know he and Lehner weren't extremely happy last year, but hopefully he understands if he leaves, he probably will never make it. I think Claesson and possibly Zib playing in Bingo will help though.

No, that was in Sweden. I think last year if I'm not mistaken was one of his healthiest.

He has a dirty release, so it's pretty obvious there's some contamination, perhaps enough to put him on top of the impure shot ranking.

Top 6 or bust in terms of NHL.

I don't see him making the team because other players seem more NHL able than him.

Still a good prospect though, and there's always the chance that he thrives in a structured NHL system rather than a loose system like most AHL teams run.

Would an impure shot be a backhand?

Maybe the knucklepuck would be an example of an impure shot?

For starters, what the hell is a pure shot?
