If Pronger wouldn't have been suspended, he would've won the Smythe. He deserved it more anyhow IMO.

If Pronger hadn't purposely stepped on someone with his skate, he wouldn't have been suspended...

Pronger and Neidermeyer were 2 of the top 3 defenceman in the NHL while in Anaheim.

While Both Pronger and Stevens are miles and miles ahead of Scott Niedermayer who is the most overrated player in the NHL of the past 20 years.. I think Pronger is a good deal above Stevens.

How many D-man have won a Hart?

Wrong incident.

For the record, I agree with you. Pronger hurt the Ducks with his actions. Anaheim won both games he was suspended for, but he put the Ducks in a tough situation. If not for Niedermayer and Giguere, those could have been two losses that came back to bite Anaheim.

Pronger earned a suspension for stomping after the Ducks won the cup...in the regular season...in 2008

What kind of logic are you using, if any at all? Pronger didn't win his Hart in Anaheim.

If someone makes a poll asking "who was better in 1997, Gretzky or Jagr?" you don't reply "Gretzky because he won 10 Art Ross Trophies and 9 Harts."

Forsberg never won the Smythe because Sakic and Roy were better, just like Stevens and Niedermayer.

Stevens and Niedermayer, but only because Niedermayer wasn't quite the player he used to be when he got to Anaheim, and neither was Pronger. This isn't to say Pronger wasn't still one of the 3 best D in the sport, because he was; just that Pronger, in his Hart year, was the most-dominant defenseman I've ever seen in my life (for a short time, say, 100 games, he was better than Bourque, Leetch, Lidstrom or Coffey ever were).

Stevens' and Niedermayer's best overall hockey came roughly during the same years, when they were paired together.

Poll is about which pairing is better. The Pronger that was capable of winning a hart was never paired with Niedermayer. Think he was paired with Rierden (though I could be wrong...was a long time ago).

During the three seasons when Niedermayer and Pronger were teammates, Niedermayer played with Beauchemin and Pronger with Sean O'Donnell.

This is why Pronger and Niedermayer is the clear choice. Niedermayer wasn't the Niedermayer people remember until Stevens got injured/retired.

Exactly. We have seen that poll many times and it always produces the same result: no clear-cut winner.
