Corey Locke - without Foy

Matt Foy just signed with the Minnesota Wild, therefore Habs prospect Corey Locke will be without his partner in crime. How does everyone think he's going to fair without the help of a power forward winger?

Personally, from what I saw of Locke last year I don't think he needs Foy as much as Foy needs him. I think Locke will put up 100+ points once again, and another scoring title in the OHL is not out of of the question.

He lost both of the players from his line last year, Foy and Scott Sheppard. I think he will certainly have a drop off in points

Difference is he knew Sheppard wouldn't be back since he was an overager. It will be a good test to see what he can do without his comfort zone of Foy on his wing.

It will be interesting to see if he can produce decently on his own, now that both Foy and Sheppard are gone. I'm not too worried about that, though, because Corey was clearly dominant every time I watched Ottawa 67's games last season.

Obviously, playing with great linemates helped him out a lot, though.

So what if he knew Sheppard woulnd't be back...?

That doesn't mean he'll be as good without him...

He may...but just beacuse he knows that Sheappard will be gone can't make up for the fact that his linemates will be severealy sub-par...

I was refering to the mental aspect when he was preparing himself for the year. He knew that Sheppard wouldn't be back but Foy on the other hand he was probably under the impression would still be there. It's just for the mental aspect that I was refering to.

Kinda like since he knew Sheppard wouldn't be back he could practice for the upcoming year with different players and what not, find some chemistry. That's all I really meant...

I hope Locke plays some with Mancari, who I've heard a lot of good things about.

Locke starts off the season with a goal last night.

This could be great opprtunity for Locke to show what he's got!!

with foy we could have second guessed his effort due to the space he colud get with foy in the lineup, but without him locke gets opportunity to silence his critics if he can putup similar season as last year, this might even lead to improved play from him as he will have to make things happen for his team.

That's exactly what I mean, we get to see just how good he is now that he's taken out of his comfort zone with his linemates gone.
