OT: EB games midnight launch of NHL13

Anyone from the Vancouver board going to the midnight launch @ the EB games in metro town?

One of the sedins will be there, if there is a full season lock out, it will be our chance to see a hockey player in person for this season.

I'd be weary of going. I went to the one two years ago that had both Sedins and it was a complete ****show. I doubt the EB games management has smartened up since than.

If I remember correctly what I saw on the news, there was no organization, no lines, everyone was pushing and shoving to get in, stuff like that.

I find these things really tedious.
It's really not worth it.
The games will be half priced by Christmas.

Also, the games could be disappointing, like the new Madden.
I would rather wait.

But if you really must go, have fun.

I looked through the thread of the NHL11 midnight launch on HFboards, and damn Iam scured.

I might not go at all, I might just pick up my game in the morning.

I was in metro and they had an event for CODs midnight release.

I can't remember why, but I was with my friend and we bought the superstore whole chicken and we're there eating our meals and as soon as they started letting people in it was complete chaos lol. Fights broke out, people were yelling, some people got robbed. nice entertainment while we dined.

I went to the midnight release of NHL 11. Waited in line for 7 hours. Would not recommend going.

I might pre-pay for the game in full, head to the midnight launch after midnight, wait in the car until the mob clears out and pick up my game at 1:30 am.

I refuse to buy any games from Ebgames or GameStop. And I live in Nanaimo, so I will not be going.

Is the game out tomorrow? Or is it just out for pre-order? I remember seeing the release date being set at Sept 11.

Even Pre-orders come out on Sept 11.

You get a bonuse "boost pack" or something along those lines if you pre-order. No early release.

No. Just pre-order/reserving the game.

Game will be released midnight on Sept 11, so start lining up on the 10th to get your game signed by Henrik

Unless waiting in line to see either Hank or Danny is important... just go to walmart and pick the game up. The usually do a midnight release too and have little to no line up.

The Gamestop in South Surrey does midnight releases, and usually stays relatively quiet. No Sedins though.

I like the NHL games, but I can wait a day or two for it. No need for such nonsense.

I just stroll into Best Buy at 10 am and pick it up. No need for any of this midnight crap

NHL 12 still sells for like 59.99.

You can probably find them for $25 or under on Craigslist by Christmas. People sell like-new copies.

NHL13 - what is that like? 3 hours of staring at an empty rink? Moving around GMs/Bettman vs Fehr and player reps?

"Hey Johny come to dinner"
"I can't Mom, it's too close I'm only winning 3 CBA clauses to 2"

If there is a full lockout, I can always watch hockey on NHL13 True Broadcast Cam
