It can't hurt I wouldn't think. There's a reason why no team has repeated in 10 years, and it's not just because of the parity. It's very draining and the lay off isn't like what it was before. Now players are training pretty much year round, and to have to come off a cup win and get right back into training is hard. No real time to just rest. And that doesn't include the busy season some guys have, especially the stars, with cup appearances, parties, 'days with the cup' etc.
Heck look at Bob in the article posted on here. he had like 5 or 6 parties in just a few days after the cup, and I doubt it's going to come to a full stop this off-season. And he's the TV guy, not Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar or the NHL's most famous party man-couple, Jeff Carter and Mike Richards.
Welcome to the Red Wings life they go through long runs for the past 15years although the Kings have been my 2nd team for the past 5 years and im glad i got to see them win the cup i got a lot of hate around Michigan for routing for the Kings the past years
I think a lockout would benefit some of the older contenders more than the Kings, IMO.
The lockout benefits no one, players, owners, fans, etc... But this is something you have to deal with as a fan. I am a huge sports fan and though Hockey is my favorite sport, if the NHL has no season, I will just move on to other sports until Hockey comes back. I will not be upset and I will welcome them back and cheer like always.
