3 Trades to start Flame Re-Build.

These are some trades that would really kick start the rebuild if they finally decide its time:

To Devils:
Iginla

To Flames:
Tedenby
1st 2013
3rd 2014

Nj Gets a Good power forward to help ease the loss of Parise, Jarome will put up 70+points atleast for the next 3 years and will really give jersey a shot at getting back to the finals...Flames get a young Right Winger that has potential and a first that will be between 20-30 plus a 3rd in 2 years. This deal helps both teams it helps Nj right now and the Flames Down the road.

To Flames:
Scrievens
2nd 2013

To Leafs:
Kiprusoff

Toronto get a great goalie that can steal some games and on most nights give you the chance to win, Calgary adds another high draft pick and add another young goalie with upside to go along with Irving.

To Wings:
Bouwmeester

To Flames:
Ferraro
1st 2013
3rd 2014

Detroit gets there D they've been waiting for and The Flames get another first and a third next year along with Ferraro who is a prospect IMO has to still prove himself but has potential.

3 deals to really kick off a rebuild if they decided to would it be a good start?.

The Flames just acquired Wideman and Hudler, they aren't trying to rebuild.

I like Iginla and all, but what makes you think he's going to put up 70+ points for the next 3+ years when he hasn't done that in the past 2 out of 3 years...

lol kiprusoff for scrivens and a 2nd?
stop. for starters the flames are deep in net and don't need scrivens but there's so much more wrong with the value of the trade as well.
these trades will not help rebuild the flames, just destroy what they have left.

Ohh well I'm sorry I just don't think The flames will get an arm and a leg for two 35 year olds who only have 3 or 4 good years left in them getting a first, a second, and a third plus Scrievens and Tedenby..Not bad for 2 players who are in the tail end of there career

Devils are not trading a first or second in the next two years. I repeat, Devils are not trading a first or second in the next two years.

Tedenby has no value whatsoever, Flames cold get so, so much elsewhere for Iginla and the Flames aren't rebuilding. They just aren't, whether it seems like they should or not. They're team isn't as bad as people make it out to be, it's just that they've consistently underperformed.

A team like the Flyers will top both offers. Iginla could easily command a solid roster player with potential and a high end prospect and a pick. Bouwmeester would get slightly less.

scrivens is an ahl goalie.... that's all.
he'll never be a number one or two... just an ahl callup. for a guy like iginla who has 10 straight 30 goal seasons and a guy like kiprusoff who is still a top 5 goalie in the league, it'll take something worth more than tedenby and scrivens.

If the Flames shopped Jarome Iginla tomorrow I think he'd get a far better package than that. Any team that thinks it can win the Cup next year would love to add a player like that for next year. At the trade deadline his value will be a little lower but should still at least net the return you proposed.

If the Flames really wanted to rebuild, I think it would be Iginla to Pittsburgh(1st, Maata, Tangradi?) and Jaybo to Detroit(Tatar, 1st, 2nd?) and Kipper to Chicago(Teravainen, 2nd?)

The key word is if.

Flames really should rebuild. Iginla and Kiprusoff have played gallantly for years and the last few have done all they can just to keep Calgary mediocre. Unfortunately, they're nearing the end of their fine careers and once they're there things are really going to bottom out badly for Calgary and they'll be forced to rebuild regardless. If they trade them now they can get great returns since those guys can help teams that have Cup aspirations (which the Flames absolutely have no shot at). They're better off taking some good longterm assets to speed up the rebuild process that they're inevitably going to go through.

As well as Cervenka, who's supposedly as NHL ready as you can be.

plus sven joining the team, brodie being a year better, a potential breakout year for backlund and a full season with cammeleri could have the flames in playoff contention.

Best case scenario where everything goes right the Flames finish in 8th. And they'll still be awful the year after.

I know you can get way, way more for Kipper than that, especially at the trade deadline. There will be many teams that will try to acquire a top-10 goalie for their playoff run. He should get at least a good prospect and a 1st.

Flames could do better for Inginla than that Devil package.

While all of your proposals are a bit weak for Calgary, the Kiprusoff one is the worst.

The Leafs especially would give a pretty big ransom to have his services.

The principle of this thread is good, but the proposals are awful - and this is coming from an Oilers fan.

Iginla - even at his age - is going to return a mass of valuable prospects and picks. And correct me if im wrong, but Tedenby is flirting with 'bust' territory. Add a couple less than enticing picks and you're throwing away the franchise in a single move.

The other two don't bring back anything of great value either. And in short term hindsight, bringing in two late round 1sts may not sound like a pleasant return to Flames considering Jay Feaster's moves at the draft table this year - Especially not ones to "start a rebuild".
