I always liked Dwyer.

Good hard working 4th liner with a strong defensive game.

Very good deal for the Canes, a bargain for what Dwyer brings.

Can't help but think of Budd Dwyer whenever I watch the Hurricanes because of this guy.

Dependable 4th liner for a small salary. Nothing to get excited about, but it's better than no news.

I almost made a post about why a 20-point guy like Dwyer is worth an almost 2m caphit, but then I caught myself.

Is it a bad sign that I'm more surprised the deal is sensible and fair?

Ha, this guy is hilarious. Every now and then he'll come up with a highlight reel tip-in, especially against the Leafs. Then you look at his goal totals and those are pretty much the only ones he scores.

Canes have better players in their prospect pool but there is potential if its just him developing late...decent bottom six guy for now, anyway.

It doesn't have anything to do with prospects, late-blooming or otherwise. Purely a veteran signing.

Uhh ya, no one is expecting Dwyer to become anything more than what he currently is: a solid, defensively responsible fourth liner who is a good pk'er and is cheap.

Good re-signing for Carolina. Dwyer's no superstar but he's quite good at what he does.
