Then again, Kilrea made some vague comparison between Ceci & Doughty. Not that I don't trust his eye, they did get Monahan 16th overall.
Another 14 yr old creating some buzz is Tyler Benson. Benson is from out west somewhere, might be in the dub next year as a 15 yr old which is really rare.

Brian Kilrea is in the Hall of Fame for his ability to judge players. I'd trust what he has to say...

His scouting eye for amateur talent is one of the main reasons Kilrea is who he is. I'm sure he knows there's gotta be a level of care when he says something like that. My question is, did he see Crosby at 16? He sure as hell saw McDavid.
Actually no, his great talent evaluation skills notwithstanding, he is in the HOF because he is the winningest coach in CHL history.
Brian Kilrea was the player and the GM of the 67s. He built the team and was the one who pulled the trigger on drafting players and making trades. His eye for talent is one of the reasons he's in the Hall of Fame, and that's that. If you don't agree, you're not well informed enough on the subject to be able to have a legitimate debate with.

Even though I respect Kilrea and know he has an exceptional eye for talent but I highly doubt he is better than Gretzky was at 14. I think he just said that because they have a hogh chance of drafting him.

You have to feel for Jeff Hunt - this is truly a lost season for the 67s, and he has to be losing money hand over fist playing out at SBP in front of 2,000 paying customers. That won't improve at all when Graovac and Ceci get shipped out at the deadline for picks and prospects.
By the end of the season, I'm expecting this poor Clint Windsor kid to have seen more shots than any other goalie in OHL history. His save percentage is going to look poor, but that's not really fair given the number of high quality opportunities Ottawa gives up.
I'm probably going to head out tomorrow night, just to see the horror story for myself, and to get a better look at Ceci before they trade him...

The timing couldn't have been much worse. Moving out to the west end, it would have been the ideal time to pick up a lot of new fans if the team was as competitive as it has been for the past, and with the building size to cash in on any sort of playoff run.
On the bright side, the rebuild will hopefully be in full swing by the time they head back home to their newly renovated Civic Centre.
Listen, Junior's have the quickest turnaround you'll see in sports. In NCAA, they recruit (so it's different). In the CHL, you have a variance of 4 years.
To be the best, you most often have to have been the worst recently. In the OHL, the two teams that seemed to have exception to this was the Ottawa 67s and London Knights (who have just/are now going through it). Examples include:
-Halifax Mooseheads (#1 in Canada, terrible past 4...5?? lot of seasons)
-Barrie Colts (Worst team in OHL a few seasons)
-Niagara Ice Dogs (sellers at the deadline, traded Pietrangelo...got some guy named Strome)
This is good for the 67s. Next year, they'll be a middle of the pack team (#5/6/7) in the East with a high pick and some new 17 and 18 year olds that are picked up from Ceci and Graovac trades. Then in 2 years when they move back to the Civic Centre, they've got a bunch of kids in their prime ready to contend for the Robertson Cup...
Are the tickets really 28$ a piece (saw that on capital tickets) or are they cheaper at the gate.
My god if its 28$ what a rip off.
edit: looked at other games and I can get tix for 14$. Looks like they ramp up all the prices on gamedays for capital tickets.
You will also find lots of people standing in front of the building, looking to flog the freebies or extras they have. Almost inevitably, it is for well under face value.
J.P. Cesario played previously with Attack, Otters
I wonder if they have picked him as they plan on trading Clint Windsor, who despite a 3 - 11 record and a 909 SV% has played very well since being acquired.

Cesario was brought in for insurance purposes only. He'll be with OJHL Pickering unlless an injury occurs. Think about it - who to we have past Windsor and Blair?
You're right, Windsor's been outstanding. That record is deeefinitely not his fault.
