Here's to the laborers

It isn't always easy these days but we keep on moving. Have a great weekend, payed or unpaid, on or off the clock.

Thankfully I have Monday off. Need it going into the next couple weeks.

Too bad we don't get May Day off, too (or either), considering that its commemoration as an international labor day is due to the remembrance of an event that took place in Chicago.

labor day weekend and I'm working friday-thursday. I haven't had a holiday off in over a year. I guess I get to celebrate laborers by getting ****ed in the ass. I'm lucky if I get 3 weekend days off a month, and yesterday I worked 6am-4pm.

Ah.... and just realized that this is literally my last weekend before I transition from "part-time" to full-time, so I'm not getting paid for today.

.... smart timing, company.... smart timing....

Pretty easy to have an opinion about other people striking when you make as much in a year as most teachers will make in their careers, Brent.

And don't confuse that for a defense of the teachers striking, mind you.

Agreed on this point, I mean, come on Brent, look at what your brothers are doing in the NHL. And that's over millions...

Oh, and I think we, as a board, can agree on one thing and one thing only regarding this teacher's strike....

It's all Stan Bowman's fault somehow.

He was a member of the NHLPA during the last lockout, correct? A lockout is a work stoppage over bargaining/wages, yeah? Thought so.

A strike and a lockout are different, I understand, but they are both labor strifes, and he was part of one as a member of an organization the represents a line of work he chose to go into. Maybe he should've just been happy he had a job, too. He's being a complete hypocrite saying that.
