Yep, 16-1-0-1 to start the year isn't bad, including winning 14-straight games. Was bound to happen eventually and figured last night or tonight could've been the night. Actually put v-cash on Kelowna tonight too. Haha.

Damn, Think I put it on Kamloops but I was so close to putting 200 on Kelowna.

Well, we all knew it was gonna happen. Congrats to the rockets. I hope this really ignites the rivalry again.

Another Giants trade:

Quote:
In exchange for the Edmonton, Alberta native (Nathan Burns), the Blades have dealt centre Travis McEvoy, a 3rd round pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft and a 1st round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
http://saskatoonblades.com/article/b...ns-from-giants

Racking up the draft picks, and McEvoy seems to be a good piece as well.

HUGE game tonight! Blazers VS Oil Kings. This time both teams are rested, we should see more of a true tale with these two teams.

haha, it was pretty similar to the first game. tight checking, Brossoit played out of this world. EDM is asking for trouble having 5 forwards on their 1st PP unit, Blazers have 4 and I don't like it. Was a great game. Kamloops is fighting the puck a little these last few games, they will come around. I really hope this matchup is the WHL final, it would be such a great series.

The two games so far have been playoff intensity for sure. I dont like the five forward pp either. Drives me crazy actually. The other night in PA they gave up a 2-0 on the pp.

Last night they didnt have Reinhart on either pp unit. They had five forwards on the first unit and the Moroz line with Lowe and Musil on the point for the second unit. I guess if you werent drafted by the Oilers you arent a priority.

Kevin Lowe, Craig Mactavish and Kelly Buchberger were in Kamloops last night to watch the game.

Apparently there was a spitting incident in an end of the game scrum in front of the Oil King's net involving Keegan Lowe and Tim Bozon. Bozon got a game misconduct at 20:00. Not sure who did the spitting as of yet. Disciplinary action from the league is expected.

O wow, didn't see that, if Bozon got the Misconduct you would think he did the spitting. Definitely inappropriate, and he should be disciplined, but it shows the emotion in the game.

Another win for the Hurricanes tonight, they just keep finding ways to win. Of course led by another solid performance by Ty Rimmer, his 20th straight start. The 'Canes could be one of the biggest surprises this year. Points in 11 of last 12 games and currently sitting only 1 point behind Edmonton ('Canes have played one more game). They just finished up a 6 game home-stand which they went 5-0-0-1, so lets see if they can play this good on the road.

Was it just me or when scoring goals was that easy, it started to become real boring...

Being a goaler myself I hate seeing terrible goaltending, and the game was full of it. Also defense can be part of the blame.

Thanks Mr. Erickson.

Looks like Ty Rimmer's 21 games started streak will end tonight. Backup Christopher Tai will get his first start of the year against the Pats.

edit: And they lose to Regina of all teams.

Portland is on fire.

Kamloops has hit the skids.

Will they pull out of it and be dominant again?

Or are they not as good as they first appeared to be??

I would say that they're in between. Their forward group is the strongest of any team in the dub and kept winning games from out scoring their opponents. Now if a team stops their forwards from scoring Kamloops defense is not bad, but pretty average and same with goalers as well. Maybe they could get Dumba closer to the trade deadline.

Payton Lee, the goalie for the Giants is so talented. He's shaky but like any rookie that assumes the #1 role as a 16 year old and behind such a team, its normal.

Aren't Kamloops best players overagers? I doubt Dumba makes the NHL next year if he gets delt to the Blazers they have a solid season, next year they will likely suck so he will be back in the same situation he is now. I think they go for a one and done player either a 92 or 93.

I think he got hurt or re-aggravated something in one of the Edmonton games. Dont recall specifics but I remember the pbp guy saying something about it.

well, define best players. If you are talking points, then no, Kamloops top points getters are not overage players. With that said, no doubt the overagers still have a big impact on the team. Honestly, I am still really hoping to get Madaisky back and then trade one of our other overages for more depth scoring.
