BTW, everyone loved Hank because he was brash like George.

He knew nothing though. He knew how to smoke a pack a day. That's it.

Wonder are those same people loving him now with this Arod contract?

Who, exactly? It seems to me it was always pretty clear he was a dud.

A lot of Yankee fans started to say 'he's just like George' 'will spent money' 'give great quotes'

The media started loving him too.

Yeah, lots of people are impressed with loudness. It's alarming.

And the media loving him because he's good for a story is different from them thinking he's good at his job.

as much as i didn't like that contract extension he was a big part of the whole 2009 playoffs. without him that year they don't win the world series. If only it was a five year extesion instead of a ten year. from 08-10 he had good years. in 11 he dropped off but was injured that year and still put up decent numbers. now it looks like he's pretty much dropping off completely. this would've been the perfect year to be his last year. but unfortunately theres still five years left to go.

He did not give Arod that contract. It was Hank Steinbrenner.
In fact, he never wanted to bring Arod back after he opted out. Hank overruled him....
My mistake, but Cashman has made numerous other blunders. The Pineda trade being the latest.

That's a good point. Cashman didn't want him back but if he had gotten his way there is no 2009 championship.

I had no problem at the time bringing him back. Just not for 10 years...

AJ Burnett

Just to name a few.

Since when do they not hold a runner on 1st in the 5th inning with no outs?

Pineda had a pretty good rookie season and now he's injured. Lets hold off on calling that trade a blunder. It's not like Montero is setting the world on fire.

I hope we bring back Kuroda next season because I'd love to see CC-Kuroka-Pineda rotation. That could be 1 of the better rotations going around.

These TBS announcers are so pro O's. They really wanted that ball to be fair.
Smotlz said he hopes the O's move on.

That's not pro O's... It's called not being biased like a Yankee fan. It hit the pole, it should've been a homerun. How is that being "pro O's"?

Not it didn't. The call on the field was foul. There is no definitively angle that shows it hit the pole. Now if it did hit the pole, there would have been a change of direction.

Oh God, take the blinders off. Were you out of the room when they played the very zoomed in replay of the ball hitting off the pole? It did change direction. I also went to get my dinner about 15 minutes ago, and on 880 AM, they said all the reporters who are given crappy seats, happened to be sitting right there. They said it nicked the pole. Now, please don't argue, you are being an ignorant Yankee fan.

I think the view where they blew the ball up you could clearly see it nick the pole. That's just my opinion on that.

Granderson launching.
