Taking a stab on weber + fla

Lots of Vancouver fans want weber but let's face it everyone wants him. Many say he's from bc and he was guarantee to sign in VancouverIm not sure about that but I will try my best to make a proposal both teams will like.

Nashville recieves:
Edler
Booth
Jensen
1st
Schroeder
Tanev

Vancouver receives:
Weber

This won't likely bring him here but value wise it is pretty good in my opion

Nashville gets Edler who is a top 15 defenceman in league and will hit 40+ points a year they get booth a 20 goal scorer and a very good up an coming Danish prospect in Jensen. Tanev I think will be a top 4 dman in a couple years if he gets bigger and improves shot. They also receive b level prospects and a 1st

Vancouver gets weber do I need to say more

Florida receives:
Luongo
Rodin
2nd 2013

Vancouver receives:
Flieschman
Matthias
Theodore

Reasoning behind fileschman is because he's a good playemaker and he can also score 25 goals a year. Huberdeau will most likely take his place or nick bjustad will.
Florida fans get upset if we bring up young names like bjustad gudbranson Huberdeau so why not fileschman. Only problem he was a leader scorer in Florida.

New lines

Twins bur
Higgins kesler flieschman
Hansen lapierre Raymond
Kassian Matthias weise

Weber hammer
Bieksa garrison
Ballard foster

Sign foster 1 year 1.5 million

Schiends
Theodore

Flame away hard boys and girls

The better question, based on your proposal, is who wouldnt be included in this trade from the Canucks to get Weber?

Assuming Weber could be traded right now, which he can't, why would Nashville do this? Edler has a year left on his contract, and it is a downgrade on D. Weber has 14 years left on his contract, and he is arguably the best blueliner in the game right now.

But ignoring for a moment the obvious flaw in using Edler as a centerpiece in a deal for Weber, why does Nashville need Booth? Offense seemed to be stable last year with one of the youngest teams in the league (before AK and Rads). A 20 goal scorer is nice and all, but he would be redundant. I think Poile would rather look at his younger players to see how they develop rather than plugging what would be a redundant piece into the top six.

Don't need prospects or picks. Not putting down the prospects here, but Nashville doesn't need it.

Oh and why would Vancouver give up all of that? Why not just re-sign Edler?

Panthers definitely say no. Flash is probably our most talented offensive player at the moment, and we have little offense as it stands now.

After all of these proposals, I don't want Luongo anymore.

Vancouver wouldn't do it either, just for the record.

Why does Florida do that, Theodore proved he can still play and they will have Markstrom in a year or 2 to take over it makes no sense.

Kind of a rhetorical question there. I think most people know the answer.

We have no offense and we trade the only player that brings offense, we can have Loungo for peanuts anyways

I personally think Edler and Kesler would get it done next year, what's left on Edler's deal?

You'll get beaten by many other teams on that offer for Weber.

Nashville can trade Weber to anyone, why choose Vancouver? It's not like they have the assets to get it done, nor does Weber have a NTC. And I'm sure they'd prefer dealing him as far away from Nashville as possible to the opposite conference.

Probably gets the trade done but there's zero chance that Kesler is made available with Edler.

The same way that Weber can't be traded for a year... And after a year is up, do you REALLY think Nashville would consider trading him?

Okay, so we just paid this guy $27m over the last calendar year, how about we flip him for an expiring contract?

Give it up. Weber is a Predator for now and forever.

Weber will not be traded for assorted pieces. He will almost certainly only be traded if Poile gets an offer so rich that he can't rightly refuse it.

And it should be stated once again that the Canucks will not receive a big return for Luongo. The idea that he'd draw Florida's leading scorer from last season is ridiculous. This is especially true when one considers that Luongo was barely better than Theodore last season despite being on a much better defensive team.

I doubt even that would get the trade done. Given that Edler could simply bolt after next season, this trade would basically be Weber for Kesler. Kesler is a top-40 forward, but his value isn't even close to that of Weber. And even if Edler were to be signed to an extension beforehand, there would still be no compelling reason for Nashville to make this trade.

Why would Florida trade for a goaltender that will slow the development of Markström for many years?

I can see Weber going to Vancouver but I can't see them trading for him unless they get him to sign a long term deal first.

That said if that happens here's the deal I see happening:

To Van: Weber
To Nash: Edler, Kesler, 2013 1st and Chris Tanev

Um... Weber is signed to a 14 year deal. I don't think you're going to get any more "long term" than that. Edler is the one who needs the contract in this scenario, not Weber. You're basically offering Kesler and a piece that isn't even guaranteed to be a Canuck by the time Weber is actually able to be traded.

Simply put unless you want a salary dump then Florida says no to Luongo
