I will be coming to LA from New York and want to go to opening night (if the season starts on time). Yes I know it is banner raising night, but I am looking to buy two tickets for the game. I'm trying to avoid stub hub fees so if anyone has any info for the best way to get tickets, help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
Eh.. Guess I'll go with Stubhub. Price is cheap compared to NY. I have Rangers half seasons and went to every playoff game. First round game 7 tickets here were going for more than SCF game 5 tickets. Even went to SCF game 4 in Jersey and those cost me about $130..
I just checked on StubHub. They have 1,188 seats left for a game that will be played seven weeks from now. Lowest price available if $145.
You will not get a better deal than that. I have found that all the secondary broker market web sites (StubHub, VIP, Barry's Tickets, etc.) all generally are selling the same seats at the same prices. So that probably means there are less than 1,200 seats available overall.
Actually, the game is sold out already. Those 1,200 seats are already over face value per ticket. You might as well snatch them up now, the price will only rise as we get closer to opening night.
I doubt that game is even going to be played with the impending lockout.
We will know more tomorrow when they meet for the negotiating session. I found it interesting that the leaders met for two hours today and they postponed the negotiating session for 24 hours. Perhaps the leaders went to their respective sides with new proposals on the table?
If so, it would be encouraging news.
Bottom line is this: the Kings need for this season to start on time, or shortly afterwards. They are primed for another SC run, no doubt about it in my mind. No team was hotter down the stretch into the playoffs, and obviously no team was hotter (by a wide margin) in the playoffs. They had a sustained 41-game run of 29-9-3, and with the full complement of players for a full season I see them going to the top of the WC and another deep run in the playoffs. I have never had so much confidence in a Kings team as I do now.
My advice is www.714tickets.com
By far the best place in socal to get tickets cause most of the time they are the same prices but have no fees at all. Price you see is the price you pay.
My advice is get tickets no matter the price because lets face it, there is a pretty good chance that you may not be able to go to another raising of your Stanley Cup banner for another 20 years.
I mean I went to the cup raising for my Ducks when they won the cup and spent $100 a ticket and it was definitely worth it. The Ducks were a dominating force in 06-07 and we have been on the verge of making/missing the playoffs ever since. You never know what can happen no matter how good or bad you think your team is. So don't let a couple hundred bucks stop you from experiencing something as cool as being there for your team when they raise the cup banner for the first time...

Second this. I have bought from here numerous times and never disappointed.
If an event is cancelled for any reason other than an act of God (rainout, earthquake, flood, etc.), war, terrorism, strike, or lockout, we will provide a full refund for the amount that you paid for the tickets.
In case of a rainout or strike for a sporting event, no refunds will be made. We will attempt to contact you with further instructions in these instances. If you have not heard from us within 48 hours of the announcement, please CONTACT US.
Well looks like I won't be going to the game. As is nobody else. haha... It really sucks being a fan of a New York team when a team is good. Can't believe that tickets to other games of a championship winning team (Kings) in a big city are going for $19 on the secondary market. That is crazy. Cheapest face value ticket in MSG is $45 dollars at the season ticket price and they didn't even win a championship.

So strike/lockout counts as refundable, but it doesn't count?
Or am I just having trouble reading today...
My friend bought 120 tickets for Frozen Fury this year. Returning that money is going to be a pain in the ass. If they keep it, that is totally shady. How can they charge you money for an event they aren't having?
Tickets probably aren't refunded for a lockout because it's up in the air whether games will be cancelled or not. If a lockout lasts 2 weeks, the league may try to squeeze in all 82 games by compressing the schedule, or maybe by tacking on a week at the end.
Once a revised schedule is put out, the cancelled games would have to have some kind of a refund policy. If you have hard tickets with proof of purchase, the Kings would surely refund them. If you get them 3rd party, it gets trickier. The Kings may possibly refund those, but it would be for face value, regardless of what was paid for them.
^ Yeah that makes sense. Frozen Fury is going to be cancelled the day of the lockout I would guess. I doubt they can reschedule that. I don't remember what happened in 2004 with that. I don't think I had bought tickets in advance that year as the game didn't really sell out then. Oh well, I'm bitter with the league/nhlpa at this point.
Tickets on Stubhub are very cheap right now. I bought tickets 10 rows from the ice for $40. I think the least expensive tix I saw were $12. I know the season starting on time is a long shot, but I couldn't pass up the chance at those prices.

The cheapest I've seen on there is $144 per seat, and I've been looking for a few weeks. Where did you get tickets for those prices?

I hate to point it out - but there is a NYR @ LAK preseason game on 10/8/12 that matches the prices in your post. However, the regular season opener is on 10/12/12 and the lowest price right now shows as $144.00/ticket.
Hopefully you found a great deal and took advantage, but I'm worried that you bought tickets to the preseason game...

haha...uh oh
Boy they really jacked the prices on opening night it's like the playoffs all over again. I went on today for my STH priority to buy extras (limit 2) and there were only a few single seats available. upper deck were $130, 200's were $200, end zone 100's were $250 and side 100's were $300

Damn, you're right! I can't believe I did that haha. That'll teach me to order tickets while multi-tasking at work. Thanks for pointing that out.
If I purchase tickets to opening night and there ends up being a lockout, what exactly happens? Do I get a refund? Do my tickets shift to the new opening night?
