Things to Look Forward to When the Hawks Return

no matter how bad things get, hockey isn't going to disappear forever...the team will play again...we will cheer (and i know *we* will cheer...b/c we keep hanging around the board several months into a lockout )

there are things to be happy about

- Teuvo is doing well after coming back from injury
- Danault is having a great season and will probably make Canada's WJC\
- Hossa is getting a lot of nice "off time" b/c of the lockout
- The younger guys are getting playing time in Rockford
- Kane didn't sit out and went off to play in Switzerland and is doing very well
- Crawford has returned to form and has gone undefeated this season

yay positivity!

Them being on the ice. Seriously. That can be as generic, cheesy, and as useless of a comment as you want to interpret it as, but really, Hawks hockey is just the hockey I've loved all my life and that we've been stripped of.

I am excited for Saad. I think he can be a star.

-Wearing my gear without snide comments from others in public.

-Standing room only and that flask of cheap whiskey in my boot.

-Seeing them on HDTV, since I bought a TV after my place was robbed and projector was stolen.

Well, Mr. Scrooge, it'd be nice to have them back for Christmas.

I hardly ever wear Hawks stuff. Mostly wear Packers and Bulls stuff now. The same people that freaked out over the NFL and NBA lockouts are the ones making fun of the lack of an NHL season.

nothing cheesy about that at all...and actually, my bad - i didn't include "hawks playing hockey" on my list just b/c i figured if we're all posting here we all miss them

so, like Culk said - another thing to look forward to when the lockout is over is to watch the team playing again.

I am also looking forward to any trade speculation for a top-six center.

Lockout or not, this team needs one in a bad way.

I'm looking forward to Sharp's snipes and hopefully Toews playing a full healthy season.

The season won't have really started for me until I see people say the following about the Hawks:

- No "hockey people" in management.
- Bandwagoners ruin everything
- Too soft
- Too small
- Q sucks
- Bowman sucks
- Bring back Tallon
- Prospect X deserves to be in the NHL
- Player Y does not deserve to be in the NHL
- Trade Kane

I've heard all of these statements so much in the past few years (said plenty of them myself), I think I'm dealing with more withdrawal symptoms from them than from NHL hockey.

Things I will be happy for

- NHL trade rumors (Miss them)
- Seeing Hawks/NHL again

Thing I will not be happy about
- Oduya
- Kruger
- Crawford/Emery
- Stalberg

Of course if entire season is washed out then Stalberg and Emery are UFA's and I never have to see them again on ice as Chicago Blackhawks

Want to see Crawford. Still have some hopes that he will be serviceable for us.

NHL Hockey back

Quoted for truth. And being reunited with peoples' irrational hate-boners for certain players, coaches, front office people, etc.

Things to look forward to?

- Not having to talk about the lockout for another X amount of years.
- Watching people praise the hockey players they *****ed and moaned about during the lockout (calling them greedy etc) only to watch them buy the players sweaters and pay to watch them play live. (hypocrites)
- Watching Vancouver get ousted in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs, again.
- Seeing the crappy return the Canucks get for Luongo

- Watching hockey, specifically the Hawks.

Won't look forward to:

-seeing BWC's posts about how crappy Oduya, Stalberg, Kruger and Emery are, without merit.
- watching Crawford play net
- seeing head injuries to our star players

What? Didn't we re-sign Emery already? I thought I remembered being upset about something.

If there is no season, their contracts don't rollover. They'd be out of contract going into 13-14.

Yeah, we resigned Emery but his contract will be gone if the season is cancelled. They don't carry over. That being said, Bowman will probably sign him once again.

If he was so head over heals for Emery as part of the solution to the goaltending problem to resign him before the regular season was even over, what would change his mind with no additional evidence one way or the other?

IF he chooses not to sign Emery after the lockout, I would really hope someone would ask why.

Well we pretty much lost the 1st half of the season to see if Stalberg was worth resigning. Hawks may lose him for nothing with all of this.
