As an Oilers fan I'd love to get Hammer. What would it take? Maybe Horcoff and a pick?

You mean his lack of hair?

There's always the injury concern, but PMB's a great player. I'm not sure trading for a defenseman fits into the Wild's plans right now, but I'm trying to generate some ideas of who Chicago would be targeting in this scenario.

Hammer was more physical before his suspension and is a lock for second pairing with Oduya, Montador, Brookbank, and Rozsival on the roster. It's actually Brookbank/Montador at the 7 and 8 spots. If you don't believe me feel free to read the threads of the Hawks boards. Offer sheets don't go 7th defenseman so quit trolling.
No he wasn't, and it's a fantasy to think so. Rozsival/Oduya will be the Hawks 2nd pairing. Mantador and whoever wins the battle for the 6th spot will be the third, my guess it would be Leddy. Brookbank signing was more of a AHL signing and to give some grit the Hawks lack in their D and don't see much of a chance of him making the team.

The wild card is if Adam Clendening and he might knock out Montador, but I doubt it, best give him a couple of more years to develop.

You don't have a clue, really, you're a long way from reality on this.

Being a Hawks fan, understanding the teams depth chart and knowing who plays on a game to game basis certainly helps.

If you know anything about Gagner you will know that he is only 22 and has improved his defensive game and his faceoff to 47%. I guarentee you that if he is playing on our second line with wingers who have skill he will be about 60 points. I also think he will be closer to 49% in the dot. The only way EDM would trade Gagner is if they decided to play Hall at centre full time otherwise they have no second line centreman.

If this was the case, you would know Hjalmarsson has never been a physical D, he'll throw the big hit once in the blue moon, but he's not known for his physical game.

The Hawks would have never resigned Oduya if Hjalmarsson was a option and the signing of Rozsival has placed Hammer on the block.

Johansson would be a starting point.
Talk about homer glasses. Johansson as a "starting point" for Hjalmarsson?

I'd love to get a solid Top6 Player that knows how to play D. Would love this guy next to Bolland on the 3rd line. Like Versteeg or Ladd was

47% to 49% in the dot... stop the presses, that changes the trade value completely

What about a deal centered around Filppula from Detroit or a player Like Read from Philly. Both teams need defensive help and have both teams can probably spare a center?

I can't see Detroit trading a player like Filppula to the Hawks just to big of a need for Detroit. How about something like a pick for Brookbank. I understand he was just signed.

Hammer is a #3 D-man, maybe a #4, how does he have the same value as an elite #2C?

Seabrook is closer to Grabo's value than Hammer is.

Chicago would have to add in a Hjalmarsson-Grabo swap, but Seabrook for Grabo is horribly lopsided in Toronto's favor.

The best part is you quote the guy saying fans over value their own players then precide to call Grabovski elite and equal value to Seabrook.

I agree totally. Grabovski has more value then Hammer but doesn't have the value of Seabrook.

As a Wings fan I believe Filppula has more value then Grabovski and if a deal was made for Seabrook my guess the starting point would be Filppula + a 1st.

Even with Datsyuk and Zetterberg able to center the top two lines? Didn't Filppula play wing last year? I'm not really a fan of either team but it seems to fill a need for both as Chicago gets the 2C and Detroit gets some help on D. I admit the value isn't there for Detroit and Chicago would likely have to add, but I don't see it as a bad starting place. Of course if Filppula's value is that much higher maybe Detroit asks for Seabrook instead.
