It is called Slapshot. I never heard anyone call it that though. It's pretty much known as "The New York Rangers Goal Song".

When the Rangers score a goal at Madison Square Garden the "Slapshot" (aka "The New York Rangers Goal Song") song is played. The song made its debut on January 20, 1995, the night the 1994 Stanley Cup Champion Banner was raised to the rafters. It was written by Ray Castoldi, the Music Director at Madison Square Garden.

It's something that's actually annoyed me
The Goal vs. Woah debate.
Goooalll is a little silly. Woah makes more sense but I unno lol It's just awkward when I see people "Goooaaaling". It's like saying "smiling" when you're already smiling. A little redundant.

it's definitely not "goal", i've had this debate with so many people and once you listen to it outside of a game context it's totally obvious it's more of a wooooah
also since i edited this 50 times before giving up, how do you embed video here?
I say "Goooaaall" just because I was brought up by my Dad singing it that way. No matter what the words are, its definitely the best celebration song in sports
