Little advice needed. I'm coming to Philly in April to watch some baseball and hopefully some hockey if they can come to an agreement. I am wondering where in the city I should look to stay. Keeping in mind getting to the major sight seeing locations, easy access to the Stadiums, decent restaurants and public transportation. Thanks.

There is a Holiday Inn right in the stadium complex. It's free parking if you're staying there and you can even tailgate. Close by the Septa station so you have a subway ride to anywhere. Just book early because the prices go up, especially if it is a gameday.
That sucks. All I know is back in the very early 70's Pete would not have passed some clases without the help of the good old black beautys. But I never did horse pills or juice.
Why couldn't he just say he had ADD. Seriously half the doctors in the US are just dying to put you on something anyway. They give that **** out like it's candy.
Chooch: "Doc, *something inaudible* you know"
Doc: "Ahh, ok. Here Chooch, here's some Adderall."
The Phillies and Astros have agreed to a trade that will send Wilton Lopez to Philadelphia for minor leaguers, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports (on Twitter). The teams are finalizing the details of the deal.

Depending on the return, this is potentially a GREAT move. Lopez will give us the exact kind of late inning reliever we sorely missed last season and allow our young guys to slot in behind. At 29 and only first time arbitration eligible (mlbtraderumors projects him at 1.4M for next season), we'll also be able to retain him for a few years. Excellent start to address a real need.

Agree. Good move, depending on what we're sending the other way. Heard Valle was going.

That would be....interesting, no?
(I don't follow baseball prospects very closely, but he's one of the few I know. On the other hand, I guess the acquisition of that SF kid makes him a bit less vital in terms of organizational need?)

He gets overrated because he has power and a decent stick, but he doesn't walk (3% of PAs) and strikes out quite a bit for a free swinger. He's decent behind the plate, but not enough to make him more than a backup type in the bigs.
For those that don't follow, Lopez is a sinkerball pitcher with a 55.9% career groundball rate.... Incredibly attractive in Citizens Bank.
And 8 BBs (+ 2 intentional and 2 hit batsmen) against 272 batters faced last season... a 1.36 BB/9 rate, all for a low arb price for the next 3 years - amazing pickup, really, regardless of whom is going the other way (I am guessing Valle+one of the fringe ML bullpen arms - not Aumont, though).
Edit. He also has a strong track record of consistent success for a reliever, clocking in with a 1.21 WHIP and 3.14 ERA in 223.2 IP at the ML level.
Braves To Sign B.J. Upton
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [November 28 at 4:11pm CST]
The Braves have agreed to sign free agent center fielder B.J. Upton, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports (on Twitter). Reynolds Sports Management represents Upton, whose deal is pending a physical.
The 28-year-old ranked fifth on MLBTR’s list of the offseason’s top 50 free agents. In 633 plate appearances for the Rays this past season, Upton hit 28 home runs and posted a .246/.298/.454 batting line. The right-handed hitter would add balance to the Braves' lefty-heavy lineup.

It seems that the Wilton Lopez deal isn't quite as done as was suggested yesterday. Conflicting source information per Ken Rosenthal. The source suggesting it's done has the deal as Valle + Cloyd for Lopez.... a fair price. The other source has several teams still in on Lopez with no deal completed.
I think they will get Hamilton, and he will impress. We all know Amaro likes to make big splashes. We just need get that right handed OF then, I believe that will come through trade.
