H. Karlsson getting waived is a bit surprising too. Who is Calgary's backup?
Kipper will play every second of every minute of every game. Neither guy stepped up to win the back-up job in camp.

Wait, but what about Thomas Hickey? He has no NHL experience (and is only 23), but was claimed by the Islanders.

Aaron Portzline ‏@Aportzline
#CBJ cuts are C Boone Jenner and D Tim Erixon.

So by cuts, they don't mean waivers? They just mean "sent down?"

But Hickey has played 200+ games in the AHL. The AHL is a pro league.

Santorelli would be a nice option for a 3rd line. Ran into some back luck last year (shooting percentage went from 10.4 in 2010/2011 to 7.7 last year and his on ice shooting percentage from 7.84 to 4.56). Could be a 40 pt player potentially with nice CORSI numbers.

No, it's because he earlier tweeted "Irving Leland" when the guy's name is "Leland Irving", he's just correctiong the transposed names from earlier.

Erixon and Jenner are cut from the team, but not on waivers, FTR. Waivers occur after so many years of pro hockey (I'm never sure on the number). While Thomas Hickey never played an NHL minute, he has several years of pro hockey experience in the AHL, hence why he had to be waived this year.

He has looked very good in Houston so far. Could be a good addition to any AHL team right now.
If someone claims him, he has to play in the NHL or else Wild have first right to get him back on waivers.

With Irving and Karlsson waived Feaster must be up to something.

Possible Trade or signing Brust, or Ramo is coming over to play.

Stay tuned..

Only if the team that claims him was the only one to put in a claim. I don't know how it works otherwise, but it's not as automatic if multiple claims are put in.

i'm pretty sure that's not true.

what the wild can do is if when he is waived the second time they claim him (and no-one else puts in a claim), they can send him to the AHL without having to clear waivers.

Lack of roster spot and to respect the limit. (23)

Karlsson/Irving battling for backup job in CGY. Could go either way so CGY puts both on waivers so either can be demoted if they clear.

Hmmm, this may be true. I am fairly certain that the Wild have a chance to take him back if only 1 team claims him and that team sends him to the AHL though.

.
I know it's very slim, but what the hell happens if both get picked up off waivers?

That seems like a pretty terrible idea to me. If one gets claimed we end up going with whichever is deemed the lesser by the league as a collective.

If both are claimed we have no backup....is this seriously a plan?

Feaster made a bad decision then.

Irving was great last year and an AHL all star before that.

Its not like he is a lost cause, maybe he just needs some motivation.

Either way, dont draft a goalie in the 1st round.
