I don't think this would go well with devils fans. I'd say leddy + 2013 first would be slight overpayment, but it's what it would take to pry henrique out of NJ.

I think devil's need Henrique more than Leddy.

They have 8 NHL dman.

If I was a Devils fan, I would laugh.

Zubrus would be easier to get than Henrique.

we're trying to get rid of defensemen, not trying to add 1

Not a chance for a Devil's POV. If you're dead set on 2C I'd think it'd be silly not to at least give Pirri 10 games before making a trade.

Understood, Leddy is just as young a 50+ point Dman starting as soon as next year. I feel it is worthy of asking, would be willing to expand to make rosters work and value. I have to think Devils fans value Leddy highly in their system given Nieds did there, not saying he's gonna be that good, not saying Henrique is Savard either.

Nope, Devils don't bite and rightfully so. The teams don't make good trading partners right now. They each have a surplus of defensemen and want forwards in return. New Jersey has Zidlicky, Greene, and Larsson to move the puck anyway and Salvador has found an offensive touch so defense is the least of their worries.

Chicago needs a center and New Jersey needs a winger. Both are willing to move defensemen. No trade to be made between them right now, unless Chicago can offer up a winger like Sharp; only then may we be able to land Henrique but I think the Devils are content with keeping him and moving Elias back to LW.

you'd lose that bet.

the Devils are not in the market to sell any of their forwards right now. they need to add to their forward corps, not take away from it. if they are going to trade it will be from the D (both NHL guys and prospects)

I like Leddy a lot, but the Devils cant trade Henrique right now.

Actually, I don't think so at all. Zajac's playoffs proved just how valuable he is to the team. The Devils also don't have that true #1 center but Zajac and Henrique make a good 2A, 2B and based on those facts, it'd be extremely hard to acquire either, unless a very good winger is coming back the other way.

Again, Devils aren't looking to trade centers. They're looking to acquire a winger by trading defensemen.

New Jersey would probably give up Zajac before Henrique, but that doesn't mean they are giving up either.

This isn't what we need. I'd be interested in a Tallinder+ for Stalberg swap, though.

Henrique is a non-starter.

Leddy is a great piece but we already have a younger and cheaper version in Larsson.

I think NJ needs fwds more than they need dmen so it does not make sense. It comes down to Leddy and Hjal for Henrique, that is quite a bit to give up for one player, yes he had a good season but far from proven.

Only problem is we have too many defensemen too. No room for Tallinder. We might already have to bury Montador.

I don't see the reason for either team to do this and personally, I'm not sold on Henrique quite yet.

Correct. We need another top 6 forward, not a defenceman. Leddy is an excellent player, and if he was made available I'd want to have him to replace Zidlicky when he retires. But right now there is no trade that makes sense, because the Hawks don't particularly want defencemen in return either. Henrique isn't going anywhere.

I'm not sure what the OP was originally, but even with the edit it still doesn't work.
